Yeah, Dimma doesn't reward 3-possession performances from our forwards enough :-X Did you see that burst through the middle by Morris that lead to a Vickery goal? That one piece of play was more than anything Lennon produced. Here's the reality with Ben:

His offensive game was worse than Morris last week.
I repeat: Lennon had less impact than Morris with the ball last week.

Now let that sink in.

...Has it sunk it yet? And Steve is picked on defensive intensity, something Ben is currently terrible at. Face it, Ben was crap. You want to reward that performance by gifting him a month of matches?!

You're right. That was last week i.e. one week.
You don't make long term decisions about a player on "last week".
Give him a run of games so we all get a decent sample size of "last month" or "the last six weeks" or whatever.
My point is that Morris will not be a player in 5 years time - Lennon could be and should be. But he needs the games (plural) now.

*smile* he needs games. He needs to earn the right to play senior games first, don't pick blokes to give the, experience. That is where we were in 2010.

Did you wait until Morris played 4 games up forward before forming judgment? I'm not making a long term call on Lennon I'm stating the obvious in regards to selection next week. Not next year, next week, while finals are still alive.

Lennon was even worse than Morris, so he doesn't deserve a place in the team next week. It's a pretty low standard for him to reach to get a game, and he failed.

Saw him in one VFL game against the dogs, and while he did not set the world on fire, I can't see I had any great concerns. Still early days and a couple of reasonable excuses for a second year player.

Be great if he was burning it up in the senior team at this stage - like say Dusty did in his first couple of years.
But the fact that he's not doesn't mean he won't make it. I certainly hope not and I'm prepared to see him given the time to do it.
