I think the immediate success of Ellis and Vlastuin and how many games they played in their debut years have people thinking that every one of our first rounders will turn out the same. Given a bit of time I think Lennon will turn out fine, what little I saw of him showed some good signs.
Agreed, whilst IRS great yo have your first rounders become regulars in their first season it's not always going to happen that way.

Really interesting player, appears to have a great footy skill set, however doesn't appear to be anything outstanding athletically, not sure what the ceiling is for him, looks a good footballer thou

Very trim and has an athletes body IMO.

Amazing kicking skills from what I observed yesterday.

I mean more the fact he seems to not be an endurance beast( of course not in 1st year) an doesn't seem overly quick either, just a mid range runner in both, doesn't mean he can't be good thou

Fully understand that just because he looks athletic that he may not have the highest fitness level.

Look forward to a big pre-season from him.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Hope Ben can have a quick recovery from his hip surgery and can catch up on the month of pre season that he's going to miss .

Ahhh!

So he's been playing with a hip injury. That accounts for a lot.

His 2013 TAC stats are a good indicator of his future intensity, if fit.

Hope he recovers properly.
Kreuzer is an example of what happens to a junior career when a hip injury is allowed to fester.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I don't know when the injury occurred Phantom , it was only in an article on the RFC website a few weeks back .

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Anyone know how Lennon is moving? Naturally a lot of interest in our latest pick ups at present, but Ben is far more likely to feature on our screens next year, and am hoping someone has a "he is tearing up track" story. That's if this hip problem is in past.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Saw him Friday at training was still just ruuning laps and pretty slowly
But may be just a precaution

Bugger.
I like getting the "tearing up the track reports" - even though they are usually exaggerated and we have to play them down a bit.
But a report like is scary. Hopefully like you say it's also to be played down a bit too.
I'm banking on a big improvement this year from this bloke.

Pre-season so far: Richmond's youngsters started back on November 10 but most of the older players filtered through and took part in training sessions before their official return two weeks later. Only Steven Morris (shoulder), Matt Thomas (knee) and Ben Lennon (hip) started on modified programs after surgery and Tiger fans would have been buoyed by a fit Ivan Maric starting well and looking like he'll avoid the type of disjointed pre-season he endured last year.

Add Ellis, C, foot surgery

Recovering from hip surgery.

No mention of the actual injury but assume it is the same op alot of the young AFL players have where they "get their hips done" as Matt Hornsby described it. Cotchy had it and so did one of our other recent recruits. If he is already running albeit slowly then it wouldn't have been to big a deal.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

A nice interview on our website. Interesting to note that he wants to play half forward and wing. With some time in the midfield. I thought we would be looking to play him half back so we had more rebound from defence.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Here's hoping Ben makes his mark in 15, in some ways he's like a new recruit.

I'm not liking what I'm seeing so far.

He was dreadful today.
