The young fella will be all the better for his baptism of fire on Saturday night. And he got to play in a mighty winning side.
I would play him against the Saints, but I suspect he might be dropped this week.
No reason to drop him, make Grigg the Sub and play Lennon for a full game against the Saints, let him get some experience
under his belt for next season.

I imagine Conca will come in for him this week

Possibly but FWIW I'd prefer Lennon to play against St Kilda to get a game under his belt.
I'd insist Conca played a really good VFL game before he got his spot back against Sydney.
He needs to atone for his weak dumb actions at the GWS game.
And if Lennon plays well and Conca doesn't - no change.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Not an ideal sub. Nevertheless, playing him against the swans would be career suicide. His break starts now. Rest up, work hard and see if you can earn yourself a round 1 game next year.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

yep...not enough impact as sub....cannot get involved enough

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Saw Ben up close today at the local Relay for Life.

Very good size and after watching him muck around kicking a footy I have observed first hand his exquisite skills.

Looking forward to a big pre-season from him.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Reckon he could be our Goddard. Will be a weapon off half back/ half forward.

Same height as Lids, 12kg lighter.

He could probably do with a little more muscle in the chest and arms, but not too much more.

He has good legs - think I have a man-crush.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Royce Hart pointed out years ago that the key to being a dominating CHF in the VFL/AFL, was overall body strength.

He showed that by his own example, and as mentor/coach to Kelvin Templeton, turning him from a skinny FF into a Brownlow Medal winning CHF.

Dermott Brereton and Wayne Carey are further examples of premiership CHFs with superior body strength.

Some are being too critical of him imo, expecting too much. As Phantom said, when he gets some strength in his frame he will be a weapon. I expect we will see more composure around the contest as well when he feels more able to match it physically.

His build looks like one that will fill out nicely.

some take more time than others. Lennon seems to be one of those but has the potential to make to big time

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Cant believe some of the hysteria from some on here about Lennon. Will be a gun when he fills out, has sublime skills.

As Lennon's only official PRE officer-bearer I, too, have a man-crush. Reckon he will be, all things being equal, a long-term player for the Tigers, with every potential that he could become a major component of a successful Richmond era.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

served a good apprentice this year - looking forward to a solid 15 - 16 games next year including a couple of good finals games

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

alot of ppl tend to forget he barely got a pre season as he had a knee injury, therefore was behind the 8-ball fitness wise. was on the verge of getting back into the side at the end of the season. will get a full pre season this time around....

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Um dont know whether to bite at the fans being upset with him. Very good young player who will surprise many going forward.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Hopefully has a big preseason and lines up on the half bank flank with Newman as his mentor.... in the stands.

I think the immediate success of Ellis and Vlastuin and how many games they played in their debut years have people thinking that every one of our first rounders will turn out the same. Given a bit of time I think Lennon will turn out fine, what little I saw of him showed some good signs.
