Ben Lennon

Last season Lennon deserved all the criticism he got.
Clearly didn't want to be there in the games I saw in the AFL/VFL.
If he's bought in that's a very good thing as we need every player in the squad pushing in the same direction if we are to improve.
That said his lack of acceleration still genuinely worries me. A few goals in an intra club match, 2 steps removed from an AFL senior game will do little to relieve that concern.
Whilst he remains on the list, like every other player he has an opportunity but I still think hes up against it.

Was definitely a bit of Figjam about him, no doubt.

Believe now he well and truly knows where he is at and what he must do to carve out a successful AFL career.
He is fit and hungry. The finger is out.

I knew the stars had aligned when Puma announced they would be a part of our "Vibrant" future.

Maybe the limited interest at end of last year lit a fire in him. Hope so, he has schweppervescence.

No doubt about it. These sort of events can change a player's perspective for good. Let's hope this is the case because Lennon does have talent.

Only an intra club game so not getting too excited, I need to see him actually put in a good year

My expectations of a good year from Ben Lennon

play 15-20 games
average 15-20 touches
1.5-2.0 goals a game
4-5 tackles

I'll wait and see

Those averages will get him top 5 best and fairest

Jack failed two of those criteria last year despite being top 10 in the league in goals, contested marks and marks inside 50.

You beat me too it, I was about to make the same points

Lennon 188cm / Lynch 192cm
Lynch is faster
Lynch has better agility
Lynch has a bigger tank
Lynch has a better work rate / ethic

Lennon is a better mark
Lennon has a better kick
Lennon has a bigger head & Higher opinion of himself

Very different players

If you think he is a better mark than Lynch, maybe you need to watch more of Lynch..

Lloyd averaged 12 possessions and 3 tackles and on the bare minnimiun of 1.5 goals a game.
Actually pretty good numbers for a small forward considering how poor our ball use n movement into the forward line was last year. Doubt there'd be many Tiger fans that think Lloyd had a poor year last year.
If Lennon can match those sort of numbers from among a variety of other forwards he'll have himself a decent year n start to provide some return after three years of not much.

I think you have missed the lead up and the context of why I posted those stats.

Not Really !!

Sam Lloyd had this type of year last year

Nah Sam LLoyd:

played 22 games
averaged 12.9 touches
1.6 goals a game
2.9 tackles

That's well below your desires for Lennon of
play 15-20 games
average 15-20 touches
1.5-2.0 goals a game
4-5 tackles
