Ben Lennon

Just heard that apart from concerns with offshore detention centres and some shenanigans with climate change data, the UN has now added Ben Lennons situation with the RFC to the list of concerns with Australia. Said UN Secretary General, "we have contacted Julie Bishop after reading about the plight of Ben Lennon and have requested the Australian Govt intervene to ensure such disregard for human rights is dealt with."

He'll be heading back into the club with his tail between his legs.

Shame he's not quick enough to be a runner. Maybe a trainer if he can learn to carry a few bottles at the same time.

Hang on. He's in charge of vibrancy at the club. That's what he does.

My country career was similar to Ben's AFL. Had some ability, but was too short to be tall and too slow to be fast.

But how good did you think you were ?

Hopefully he will put his head down and bum up this preseason and come out all guns blazing!

One of our better kicks.

Agree. Watched the game v Geelong the other night and he surprisingly laid some really good tackles. Needs to do it consistently.

Unfortunately for Lennon, clubs have moved away from blokes who have talent but jack all work ethic defensively - see Motlop, Stringer (late in the season).

Needs to get super fit like Lloyd last season otherwise his AFL days are probably over.

I read that Lennon has hired his own personal trainer and sprint trainer and working with them 4 days a week in the off season. Personally I think with his injuries, it has probably been difficult for him to get to his desired fitness level and that has been partly to blame for his seeming lack of efforts on the field. Maybe he's not as lazy as some seem to imply but he has received a true awakening and has adjusted accordingly. I wouldn't write Lennon off yet. I hope he does stay - he is contracted for another year - with the clear instruction that this is his last chance and he has to put absoultely everything into it.
