In agreeance. I'm no bright sider but the vitriol for BL is OTT in my opinion. I'd rather read he's working hard than read he's playing Xbox and sitting on the beach partying with his mates.

As the Yanks say, "It's all about attatood"

Stupidly funny comments on Instagram showing pictures of him and Dash Kam in the US posing like gays. Never go out with just one man. :hihi

Yeah. I’ve never seen bloke get slapped more for less. Ig he does four sessions a week for the three months off he’ll come back fitter and fresher than he ever has. Has never had a clean preseason. The glandular thing shouldn’t not be under estimated. Took me four months just to feel like I could work a normal day in a office. Imagine trying to recover and play AFL, with no preseason and glandular.
He has turned into a massive whipping boy on here SCOOP. Some of it understandable (e.g. his annual contract issues), however it shouldn't be forgotten that he has had major injury interruptions to date that have wiped out his pre-seasons. No wonder his fitness isn't where it needs to be just yet.

Reminds me of Mitch Morton. Forever telling people how he now realises what's need to perform to his potential and he's full focused now to prove to himself, his team mates, club and supporters.

The only difference being I dont think Ben will finish his career with a premiership medal

Pretty sure the lad dithered at his first contract extension if I remember rightly. It's ok. We get he may not want to stay at the Tigers. Good overhead mark and excellent kick for goal. Lovely kick for goal actually. But when you are as slow as concrete setting and then compound it by having a slower speed when chasing and no real desire to tackle and pressure. Well........ Hells bells....no interest from other clubs? What the? Who wooda thought.

Why did we draft him in the first place then?
Fair question. Ask every club. It's still a lottery of sorts when drafting 17 yo kids. Ran into the greatest junior footballer I ever saw about 6 months ago. In the same era and town that Brian Royal and Tom Alvin came from. Chocco 199 games and Big V player, Alvo more games and big V. Not sure if either was all Australian. This guy. Nuffen. Not really buffet. 300 games of quality country football but not quite the same. At junior level was an absolute STAR. However.....there you go. Talent is only part of the equation. Rare indeed, is a talent that does not need improvement when suddenly competing at the highest level against seasoned sportsmen who also have talent. And, on top of that you need....application.

My final comment on this topic. If Brett Deledio goes. Good luck to you Brett. You are a sensational footballer who has given Richmond terrific service. Twilight of career, if you are chasing the lure of finals/the final and we might be a bit away, then it would be churlish to bag you out chasing a chance to dance on the big stage. On the topic of Ben? Sorry. Enough said.

Well put. Some people have all the potential in the world but for some reason it doesn't gel when it counts

Nothing as yet on Lennon in the trade so far. Maybe this will get the twerp (Lennon) to have a good look at the mirror which will remark " you aint Figjam ".

He's pretty unpopular, Tiga.

This is his number 1 issue. In the article he says he's got a sprint & endurance coach..
Clearly it's his main problem & not sure the speed aspect can be fixed unfortunately for him.

Lennon was the end of Frank as the club is still required to show faith in his other questionable selections. Unfortunately it wasn't the beginning of the end. His obsession with slow flankers in the first round of the draft started earlier than 2013 and ended later. Demoralising. Rioli was a watershed moment for the club because he is bloody quick and elite at repeating the effort. All 70kgs of him.

And you're right, ToO. His top speed isn't going to increase enough to be the decisive factor in any ascent to the top. The improvement is going to need to come every other one of his attributes. Since he is likely to stay, let's hope he can somehow make a player yet.

Correct as usual Gyps.

Lennons biggest issue has never been his mindset. It's actually the physical traits he has.i.e very slow top end speed combined with no agility nor leap with his in between height.

Being a nice kick isn't enough. He was always up against it to make it.

Its a recipe for disaster and the pick is the poster boy for all that has been wrong with our drafting.

Let's hope that he stays the poster boy, Brian. My heart wants him to be the end of it and for the other slow first rounders to grow a leg but I suspect he may be surpassed.

You're bang on the mark that the issues with his temperament pale in comparison to his physical limitations. We can work on his professionalism but as for the rest? It's an uphil battle. Let's hope he can get his *smile* together and give it his absolute best.

To a lesser extent Corey Ellis is another in that bracket of concern for similar reasons Gyps.

I am not saying he is a star Leysy but he has more than a nice kick. He has a very nice set of hands on him, takes the ball out in front on the lead in the manner of Deledio who has hands like a steel trap. He also has a smell for the goals, scrounges them because he has really good goal sense.

As i said i am not talking him up as a star or defending him as a pick but he has more than just a good hoof.
