Ben Lennon

I'd be happy if Ben remained at Richmond for another year. As some have pointed out, it would be a make or break year for him. If he puts in the hard yards the success will come. If not, it's probably his last year as an AFL player.

He was going well in 2015 and we dropped him for the final against the Roos. He would have been bitterly disappointed, especially as his form had been good, and the blokes brought in didn't fire a shot.

He had some health/injury issues in 2016, and when he did get a game, it was in a dysfunctional team. Let's put 2016 aside for a moment.

If he's with the Tigers in 2017 it's either his breakout year or it's over. I think he can make the grade.

Merveille suggest you save your angst for some of those who pull our players to shreds, plenty round if you look hard enough. As for made up, I wrote what my perception of the guy is having met him at club functions and what I see on the field. It's an opinion, facts are for other places, and for that matter if your looking for facts you're not going to find too many on here.
 
Do they other 17 clubs know he went one pick before Cripps?
*smile* kickers like Anderson, Jetta, melchlam, kennedy, Seedsman, all got traded
But with this bloke no one is intrested

Reason no one is interested. Full of self entitlement. Not willing to work hard enough for an AFL career. 2 yrs running he has cracked the *smile* and threatened to leave. Wants to take the easy path to the promised land without any sacrifice. Just won't happen.
 
Just watched this clip from his Draft year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE6qTRw0NDM . Clean hands, good mark, knows where the goals are, loves to kick a goal and he was stoked to be selected in All-Australian squad. May have thought he had all the skills to walk into any AFL team and be a star immediately? Then the reality was a big shock. He has to decide how much he really wants to be a professional footballer playing against MEN who hit harder, tackle harder and make you earn every possession. All his skills have to be better and there's less time to execute them. Must work harder on everything...his endurance, speed, agility, courage, quick hands, contested marking, kicking, running hard both directions, etc. First thing coaches look for is how hard he runs both ways and if he doesn't, he will look lazy every time.

You said he whines when he is not gifted games. I just asked how you know that. That's all.
That statement is not an opinion.
If you said 'I reckon he whines when he is not gifted games' - now that is more of an opinion based on perception.

Needs to pull his head in over the pre season & realise (if not traded) that he needs to make the most of his last opportunity. There is a spot up for grabs with Ty & Lids possibly gone in that fwd line to make his own.

Being dropped for the final with lloyd was possible the worst selection stuff up I've ever seen..can anyone name a worse one ??
The kids ..like so many others..got richmonized his Career went on a tragic backwards trajectory...Ellis..edwards..batchelor..griffiths,.vikery..etc etc..everyone just got worse under us....it's alarming how next to no one improves at richmond...what a mess
