When was the last time Cousins testing positive caused us to miss the 8?

Soft. Answer the question.

Ahh ToO, but what if Cousins causes us to win the Grand Final?

You'd be happy with that... I guess ;D

Of course I would benny but the way some are carrying on it's as if it has already happened. :spin
many are in love with Ben Cousins circa 2005 before he went completely off the rails and had his Weagles contract ripped up.

As I have said whatever we do there are two sides to every coin.
I hope the club does it's research thoroughly because I do not want a drug addict in our football club.

Do you know for sure there aren't any at the moment?

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

the RFC is denying it, but all my non richmond aligned friends think we're gonna take cousins. are their opinions justified?

Too right. You're posting well Tygrys.
I have to laugh at those who say we have nothing to lose.
NOTHING is for free and this former Brownlow medalist is damaged goods.

Let's say Cuz comes to Richmond and for all intensive purposes is a starting midfielder and integral to our lineup.
Then 1/2 way through our season he gets tested for drugs and comes up positive and gets kicked out of the game. :help
No one can tell me here that will not have a huge impact on our season and will be a massive distraction to any hope of making finals.
The media will be all over us. It would be a nightmare.

I also have to laugh at the argument that Cousins is a great trainer, will teach our players how to be their best blah blah..
Look at what happened to WC when he left? That lasting impression helped his team mates enormously didn't it.

There are two sides to every coin. You reap what you sew.

Now you are being silly. If Cousins goes mid year then we will be back to what we are right now.

And the argument could be that when Cousins left WC they went down hill because they lost their best trainer.

And how do you reap or sew a coin?

RFC as yet have not denied it.

Well I did throw in the observation 'youth policy' (such as it is)'. As youth policies go I admit it's been a pretty lame one during the Wallet era. Still you seem to be implying (and I might be mistaken) that we can give it a real shake next year. With or without Cousins (drug affected or otherwise) that aint going to happen. Some of us believe youth (at least the talent variety) is the way to go and lament the fact that it has on occasions been pursued less than vigorously. Doesn't mean that we can't continue to aspire and argue for it, even if it doesn't always turn out the way we want.
hmm nicely put.

lol at you picking up on the soft response. If your silly hypotheical happens, it happens. On the topic of silly hypotheticals, I suppose you would wipe the tears from your eyes if Cousins helped us go all the way.

Of course not what's that got to do with anything.
I know that Cousins is, recovering at least.

You said you didn't want a drug addict at the club. For all we know, there might already be one, or two, or three. Just as the AFL didn't know Cousins was a drug addict for a long time, we may not know about other individuals. The AFL knows of players on one and two strikes - that's fact. Might one be at Richmond already? Who knows?

Cousins has got more reason to be clean that anyone else in the League.

just got a call from a mate of mine who is an Eagle memebr, and said same thing it looks like cousins will be a tiger, and he is going to put $200on him for the brownlow( seriously). Collingwood mate thinks it is a done deal and that richmond if it pulls it off( polak to rookie) and drafts cousins with one of it picks has played its cards perfectly.by staying out of the limelight, saying nothing and bluffing everyone.
its just now up to the afl and the club to allow this to happen .
this if true was a calculated move by the RFC , to draft the best possible player/s that are available
well done Sheedy
