Vance Joy (James Keogh) is doing pretty well these days. It's probably only two years ago that he was in the leadership group at Coburg. (He'd have been on a senior list by now if he'd stuck with it IMO.)

■ Vance Joy plays the Northcote Social Club on the evening of April 27 and on April 28, a matinee and an evening show

There used to be a joke about Jesus playing fullback for the Nazareth reserves.

Well, he wasn't Jesus. He was only Vance Joy. And he missed fullback because Alex Rance was there. But, on the upside it wasn't Nazareth it was the Richmond reserves.

(Would have played 150 games if he'd stuck with footy IMO.)

Think it was a one off. It was at the Opera House.

They played all the favourites, started with Blister in the Sun finished with American Music. Awesome musicians too, as you would expect for a band that has been around 30 years.

One of my all time favourites too.

Strange Tenants great Australian Ska band this song makes me think of the Filth www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUZOJOVRwBs

Cool KT.

Have seen them a few times, once in Tokyo in the mid 90s, and the last couple of times they've been in Melb.

I see they're playing at MONA FOMA on New Year's Day seeing Brian Ritchie is now a Tassie boy. Brian has a teahouse in Hobart which he runs with his wife.

These are a few of my faves:

Just got back from the beyond the valley festival. I haven't been to a festival in years and was clearly one of the older people there, but we had a good group of friends going and one was a chief organiser of the whole festival
Embarassingly for him though, the festival was poorly run, with lousy sound, not enough toilets, as well as less than perfect westher, yet they had laser tag and bubble soccer! priorities need adjusting.

However, hermitude and Rufus are a fantastic groups and really saved the festival for me. one of those artists I've heard of, but couldn't name a song, yet recognised almost every one. Not usually into dj music, but if u get the chance to see either band I would recommend it.

I believe he bags the hell out of the other members of Kiss in that , think I'm right saying his been sober for 8 years now...they live a different life those famous Muso's

Stopped being a Kiss fan after Ace left the band. Simmons is an F wit.
Interested to hear about the concert CC.
I reckon a great percentage of famous Muso's are ToO , way too into themselves......might have a couple of celebratory/ warm up beers with you before heading over to the Forum

I'm away for a wedding next weekend mate. Won't be at the game.

I saw Simmons speak live about 15 years ago. Don't have a good word to say about him.

Seeing Ace Fehley at the Forum after the Cats game, awesome venue

Me too mate, I'm really looking forward to seeing the show. Ace is a solid performer and the set list is amazing!

Ahh yes the infamous 'Speaking in Tongues' tour of 2002. I've met Gene Simmons a couple of times and I agree with you he is an A-grade flog, completely self absorbed. Ace Frehley was the heart and soul of KISS, he brought an attitude and swagger to the band which gave the band an edge.

A man after my own heart. Ace was the best and yes flog is the perfect description for Gene.
