Sabbath tonight!!!!!!!

My first childhood memory of SAbbath was a kid going to KFC in Preston(Melbourne's first ever KFC) in his HQ and inside there was a Vinyl jukebox and I asked to play Sabbath Bloody Sabbath on it.

No KFC's would have jukeboxes these days lol.

I lived on 2 albums in my childhood.Sabbath's Paranoid and Led Zep's II.

Banging my old black pearl Pearl drumkit to oblivion.

70's were the best for music.
I reckon I was about 5 when Sabbath Bloody Sabbath came and I thought it was very naughty because they said "bloody"!

RIP Jeff Hanneman - Slayer :(

Saw him a couple of years ago and have missed him on slayers last 2 tours. Toughed out 2 years of rehab from spider bite and the resulting deadly bacteria issue. Learnt to walk again and was slowly back playing but the body just couldn't keep fighting.

RIP to a legend.

Didn't realise Aerosmith were in town, would of been a great live show i think. I did see Black Sabbath last monday. And ... Amazing. Well at least the Opening into the first few songs, until they moved onto new stuff .... then Ozzy is all over the shop, pitch, timing the works. But anything he doesn't have to think about and just do from memory is brilliant.

Ozzy doing the cliffy young shuffle, couldn't stop laughing. The mike stand was a security blanket as well.

They did entertain though, but the highlight was the drummer. Wow he was good.

Saw The Party Animals at The Sandbelt.Heard they used to rock both The Corner Hotel and The Tiger social club back 25 years ago. Playing the Sandbelt again next month...

I met the band after their rocking gig at the Sandbelt . Wayne Gale is on guitar and vocals,Laurie Duffy is the lead singer and guitar and the cool Andy Perschetti plays a fine bass. Corrie Antipatico was on the drums. For a few numbers they were joined on stage by a lovely lady whom i think her name was Natalie.

Stupid me, I was thinking of the Party boys! D,oh!

back from Tokyo last night, Ozzfest was Saturday. The non existing metal crowd in Japan, well I finally found them.

Bands worth mentioning. Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, from Kobe (near where I live) rocked the purple stage hard!
Maximum the Hormone have a cult following here, and didn't disappoint.
Man with a mission were a surprise packet, great hard rock act! Well worth checking out.
Now.

Deftones, played a few old songs but mainly new stuff. I don't know whow filled in for Chi on bass (RIP) but they were very good. One problem, as close as I was to the stage, (touching the front barrier) I couldn't hear anything. Sound was way better in the middle or up the back. The crowd surges were hectic so I bailed half way through and bought more beer.

Slash, well he's very good, but a bit samey. All his songs have this similar feel and at this point I was watching a Japanese girl give another girl mouth to mouth resuscitation (the Japanese are very helpful, one girl asked me if i needed help breathing but I was fine.)

Slipknot. What can I say, they are epic, amazing live and spit it out as a finale was perfect. Will definitely see them again. Great mix of old and new songs.

Japanese crowd. These guys can sleep ANYWHERE! I am mightily impressed

Also, no fights, no dramas, no tough guys everyone was just cool, made an amazing concert even better. Arigato Tokyo!

Possibly moshed with Corey Taylor from slipknot too. Either that or a very dedicated fan with the same neck tattoo

Saw Bruce Springsteen last night in Copenhagen. Seventh time I've seen him live dating back to Melbourne, 1985 (there are postings from me earlier on this thread about previous times).

Been a huge fan forever, and years pass between concerts, the memory fades. But I think this was the best I'd seen him. Not afraid to do more of his very old stuff, now. One feature of this tour is that apparently each night he is picking an album and doing every song - in order. We hit the jackpot and he did "Born To Run". Some of the lesser known songs bored the less-initiated, but I loved it and if nothing else it meant we got "Born to Run", "Thunder Road" and "Jungleland".

Over three hours on stage, no breaks, 63 years old, running round like a teenager. Legend.

An interesting negative is that the concert was held in Parken - Copenhagen's main soccer ground (50,000 cap.), with the roof on and it is notorious for really, really bad acoustics. And they were, really, really bad. The music critics are getting so frustrated here and just demanding that something be done about it.

He is also giving a concert in a regional city in Jutland called Herning where they have a new indoor venue that has been purpose designed for concerts (15,000 cap.). I saw Red Hot Chilli Peppers there a few years back and the acoustics were sensational. This Bruce concert was tacked on very late in the piece and I reckon if I'd known about it earlier I'd have made the effort (300 km drive).

Van Halen coming to Japan. I have the choice of a new jiu jutsu dogi or seeing Eddie and Sammy live. Tough one.

Sammy? Have heard a rumour he might front up along with Dave but didn't think there was any truth to it! Easy choice I think!

It's possibly just a rumour, can't confirm it yet. Problem is last weeks Disneyland/Ozzfest trip means time off work will be difficult. No sleep and teaching kindergartners is doable but highly ill advised

Good to hear Dane. Unless I heard wrong, he even does body surf in the crowd?? As for the old songs, did/does he sing Hungry Heart?

Booked my tickets to see Blue Man Group up in Sydney this August. For those unfamiliar they produce theatrical shows and concerts combining experimental music, comedy and multimedia. Very different and very cool. Can't wait.

Other concerts coming up are Pink & Bon Jovi. Gotta choose concerts the better half will like and both should be good shows.

That's funny.

Surely in this day and age us men can admit we would love to see pink in concert, nice divert to the missus though
