Re: Been to a good gig lately? [Merged]
If you speak to people of the relevant demographic (ie the target market for BDO being young adults aged 18 to 30) then you would realise that this years BDO tickets are selling in record time because of the fact RATM are headlining. A huge majority of fans (an unbelievable amount of people) missed out on buying tickets to the RATM Festival Hall gig, which sold out in 2 or 3 minutes.....
And no, BDO didn't sell-out because of Billy Bragg et al. Sorry, but do your research and talk to some young adults (people in the know, not country fans or pop-idol fans) before trying to tell me why BDO is so fantastic this year.
I'm a BDO regular too, I'm aware of this... but the current support acts aren't "OK", they're actually terrible. RATM are the ultimate headline act, and Bjork reaches out to a totally different market which is ok if she wasn't on one of the 2 main stages, although she won't be appreciated whatsoever on the main stage. She will get booed which generally isn't fun...
Then again, I remember when Foo Fighters headlined back in '03 and Jane's Addiction was the 2nd last act to perform, everybody booed them and that was actually quite enjoyable for me to be a part of the booing.

How do you figure out your opinion represents 99% of Australian BDO regulars when the concerts sold out in record time, more a matter of minutes than of days?
Everybody I've spoken to about it, albeit that's only 10 or so, is more of the opinion of skybeau.
