Been to a good gig lately/Concerts [Merged]

Re: Been to a good gig lately? [Merged]

There's some good gigs coming up in Melb. This sunday at the Rainbow in Fitzroy, the Grand Wazoo have a CD launch. if u love good time soul music like Sam and Dave, Aretha, Otis and Blues Brothers type soul revues, then get along to this gig. It only cost five bucks!

You am I are playing the Hi Fi bar next week too!

You Am I are playing the Torquay Hotel (my local) next Saturday. It's always nice to have a good band at a little venue like that. Saves me the trip to Melbourne :).

We had two members of Dallas Crane playing an acoustic set not too long ago.

bummer, i woulda like to see them at Torquay but i am gonna be in melb for the day.

cut copy @ billboards

another solid gig by the boys, ive seen them a few times now and they always bring the goods, much better suited to the smaller venues than the festivals imo

Went to a great show on Saturday at the Corner in Richmond. 3RRR put on a twentieth anniversary show bash for Brian Wise who does 'Off the Record' on Saturday mornings.

They did an OB from the rooftop beergarden and Steve Hoy, Lisa Miller, Stephen Cummings, Shane O'Mara and Chris Wilson played live to air.

Then we had lunch. I had a Corner Burger which was massive. They had Coopers Pale on tap which is a great sunny Saturday beer.

Then downstairs for more music. The Brunswick Blueshooters, Chris Wilson and Shane O'mara, Rebecca Barnard and Shane, Dan Warner Collective with Sarah Carroll and then the Wagons played.

Fantastic day. It was free for subscribers and five bucks for everyone else. Brilliant.

Get behind public radio. This sort of thing doesn't happen otherwise!

What a night! The only disappointing thing was due to the person i was with we were in seats and not in GA...
If muse aren't one of the 2 or 3 best live acts around then i'll go hee!

I'm still trying to work out when Muse became a heavy metal band - at least in the eyes of the pack of 20yo thugs who nearly murdered myself and my friend in the mosh when they surged through us as the band came on, waving their devil's fingers gestures in the air and all.

After two songs we escaped to the side of the GA area a bit and had a fabulous view of Matt and Co.'s brilliant performance - only sad thing for me was the dearth of 'Showbiz' stuff.

Cheers!
Ms Tantie.

It's not really a gig, but I couldn't find another spot for it and it does involve singing and music, so here it goes...

I don't have many life goals (cos I'm too easygoing), but one is being completed tonight...I'm off to see The Phantom Of The Opera! I can barely wait, I cannot sit still this arvo. My parents saw it ages ago, bought a double CD of highlights and I listened to it to death. And now I'm only three hours away from experiencing it myself!!!

Anyone seen the show in its current season in Melbourne?

"The Phaaaaaaaaaaaantom of the Opera is there, inside your mind..." ;D ;D ;D
