Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Was in our best today. His ability to defend in the air has gone up another notch.
Yes. Used to be a massive weakness has obviously worked hard to fix it.

He was really very good yesterday

Close checking Bachar, who would have thought? His defending yesterday was a treat to watch and he almost outshone Rance on that front. Houli's headed for top 5 in the B&F this year and is proving to be yet another inspired pick by Hartley.

Developed into an extremely reliable player for us. Fantastic against the high incoming, rarely gets pinged for any infringement overhead. Bloody lively line breaker off half back, forever running to create overlap.
Occaisional Bowdo brain fade kick but all players have the odd dodgy one ;D but usually sends them laser guided.

i reckon he is still a little suspect body on body under a high ball, but agree that besides that his defensive work is now solid to gp alongside his great ball use.
i was hoping to see him move to the wing this year, but now it is looking like he will be an important member of our back half for the next few years.

Set the tone early when he spoiled a Port Adelaide mark in their forward line without giving away the free for contact. It was expertly done.

He did the same against the Crows ;D

Getting the knack of getting that last second fist in and killing the contest.

Just baffled as to why Essendon never used him more. Getting a player of his ilk at no cost is an amazing effort.

I still find it staggering that an AFL player CANNOT kick on his opposite foot. Other than this flaw I think he's great.

one of my great frustrations. its astounding given the amount of hours players get to work on their skills on the training track. apart from a handful of senior reserves games, i only really played junior footy... but i worked hard on my non-preferred side and ended up being quote reliable on my left.

oh, and i'm also happy with houli's efforts.

Roos was very complimentary of Houli and thinks he is a very good player both defensively and offensively.

I wonder if Lloyd would ever admit that?

You can't admit your wrong when your hand is on it 24 hours 7 days a week. Lloyd is AFL's equivalent of BoJo the clown.

i never thought i would see houli develop his defensive skills technique and endeavour to the level he displays now. his one on one work a massive highlight atm and his run carry and offensive work as always is superb. there were a few mocking champion datas grading of him pre season as elite.......

player development is top notch at punt road these days.
