Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

They showed down the ground footage of the final 20 secs on OTC and Houli had given Hunt a 10m legrope before the ball had even cleared the square! When Matera had the footy he was actually closing in on Hunt rather than trying to cut off the goals but it was too late and Hunt had free space for a simple mark.

Disgraceful defensive effort.

The down the ground footage showed just how bad we were in the last 20 seconds. first there were 3 players unmarked off the square and one in the forward line. It also showed the weak effort of morris to go with matera and the bad decision made by houli to mark space instead of manning up on hunt.

What if he's tight on Hunt and someone else runs into the space? Like I said Houli wasn't the problem it was other players not providing enough support.

are the players instructed to man up or mark space in tight situations like that? surely they would have practiced this so it'll be interesting to know what the coaches instructions are. IMO you go man on man when trying to defend with seconds to go but dimma could have a different view.

it shouldnt matter. there shouldnt be a one-on-one, let a alone a one-on-none, 20 mtrs from goal in that situation. there should have been about 4 of 5 tigers ready to impact any contest.

No you got it wrong, Houli was the only one trying to cover the space around the hot spot, it was too large for 1 player to cover, what about the 4 players who went to Matera? Or the other who didn't flood back.

Space doesnt kick goals, players do! Hunt was the only one who could of possibly marked Matera's kick, Houli just had to stay tight on him but didnt.

There is a million other mistakes that cost us aswell but this is just another example of Houli's loose marking. I dont trust him in defence at all.

If that happens so be it, as long as you do your job then it's up to your other teammates to have your back. Good sides have it, we don't.

Morris didn't look right to me. Looked like he carried something into the game.

Morris looked brilliant to me. Thought be was one of our best.

Anyone who has followed the Tiges the last couple of years knows that words like 'weak', 'soft' and 'disgraceful' to describe guys like Houli and Morris are out of line. Sure they made mistakes - who doesn't - but we know both these guys have fantastic Tiger hearts, so it really erks me to see that kind of language.

As an aside last week I was at one of the fruit and vegie stalls at the Camberwell market which is run by the Haouli Brothers. One of the girls serving there said that her Dad was Bachar's first cousin (not sure why the name is spelt differently), she knows I am a Tiger supporter because I went there one day on my way to the footy with my scarf on. I asked her if she was a member and she was along with her whole family and that Bachar had given them all no choice.

Fwiw she said that he was incredibly happy at Tigerland and that he was really confident about a successful future. That was before last weekend however ???

Fair comment. There are other current players giving less to the team

Jeez he was poor in the contest today. Have some real worries about him having an impact in finals. Needs it made pretty clear he needs to attack the ball harder. His one-handed efforts drive me nuts.

He is poor in the contest most of the time. He would be close to being the worst one-on-one player in the AFL. So little physical presence.

Looks good out in space when under no pressure but gee when the heat is on......

Just saw the article on the RFC website about it being the first week of Ramadan. Had 10 touches on the weekend, well down on his 20 average.
