Thought he got better as the game wore on. Was much cleaner today and used the ball better in the second half. Still needs to lift but again, much better than his previous month or two.

He was brilliant today spoiled well, went at 85% efficiency and had seven 1%ers....the most on the ground.

IIRC the team's efficiency was 69%. Really lifted today even if it was Melbourne. Just hope the leg injury doesn't worry him.

For Houli the problem is tagging, when the oposition targets him he does not get as much. On Saturday they plonked Magna on Newy and he struggled. If Magna had have played on Houli we would have been talking about Newman's break out game.

Its going to be like this all year one of those two is going to feel the heat and the other is going to have a blinder.

Karmichael Hunt took that mark uncontested because Bachar wouldn't man up on him. Bachar was 10 mts. away with no-one near him except Hunt, all he had to do was stand next to Hunt and give a contest but for some reason didn't want to go near him. Many posters are bagging out big X for the dropped mark maybe they should take another look at the end of the game.

yes but why wasn't the entire team down in the back line making it impossibly congested?? where on earth was everyone?? how could hunt be twenty metres out with no one within ten feet of him??/..i blame our leadership group for complete lack of composure and vision to make sure everyone was down in that back line.....

I didn't miss it nor the panicked disposal for most of the last quarter.

Lot of guys in trances in the last minute. Why they all wanted to move the ball quickly and into the corridor beats me. Moore marks on the wing 30 metres on his own. Shorts to Maric who dropped it. He could have milked 10 seconds and then gone long to the forward pocket - game over.

Maric makes up for his mistake makes a good tackle. Has the ball in the middle , Again milk ten seconds go back kick long to half forward - game over. Instead shorts to Tuch back of the square.
