If a sheltered life is not giving a **** about basketball.
Yes i do.
Disagree, when he misses games we don't miss him. Same cannot be said for at least 10 players in front of him. Rance, Grimes, Vlaus, Astbury, Martin, Edwards, Cotchin, Prestia, Nankervis, Riewoldt, Lynch, might even add Stack to that list now. Has he ever finished top 10 in a BnF? That said he might this year because he has had a visible year when many better players have missed big slabs of the season.Think of it like this.
Gawn and Grundy only get picked for ruck.
Think your logic falls down right there.
Houli is a huge part of our game plan and winning formula
He was certainly in our best five. Both coaches had him in the best five on the ground this week.

He has finished in the top 10 of the b&f six times (out of eight).

Despite him being in the top 10 of the B&F six times (which is a role based rating system that also rewards playing games and is not an indication of market value) the point Bill makes remains valid, look at the specific of those names listed.
Common guys, all of the players that Bill listed would attract HUGE interest from other clubs if they were out of contract. The're all contracted! Houli is out of contract and all you can hear is crickets. Some will defend him based on his aging body, but where were the suitors from other clubs last year when he was out of contract?
If Houli was as good an attacking defender as people say - he would be tagged most weeks. However, teams are happy to leave him accumulate disposals because he doesn't hurt you, they prefer to put their extra behind the ball or in at the contest. This is the other side of the coin which is never looked at when assessing Houli's game.
He is clearly not in our top 10, stop the rediculing the detratractors, and start debating if he in the bottom six or just above it. There is a valid arguement there, but top 10, seriously! it's not thge detractors that are being ridiculous or clearly wrong.
That's funny, doesn't look like the team noticed that the Tross man has been missing all year n Jaaack n Cotch have also missed most of the season so far. Maybe we might have missed Nank, but I'm not sure we did.Disagree, when he misses games we don't miss him. Same cannot be said for at least 10 players in front of him. Love it, a mini Bash. Fear the Beard.
Last year the club was late to offer him a 1 year contract (it was done in the preseason with Grigg) this year he has yet to be offered a contract for 2020.
I reckon he goes year to year contracts because he's a clubman, and he wants the option to go when he feels he has had enough, just like Grigga. Clubs know he wouldn't leave Richmond anyway - why would he? Start again in a side that's not as good as us? He owes us and we owe him. That's a beautiful thing.
He's also been our pre-eminent running back/distributor for most of those 8 years. I find the whole "top ten players" thing ridiculous in any case - every club needs players who do different things - we need a competing ruckman, we need a dour defender, we need an intercept marker, we need a defensive mid grunt tackler. Our small forwards even in 17 didn't get a whole bunch of possessions, that's not why they were there.
With Richmond the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Don't underestimate the importance of the individual components in getting that magic to work though.
Of course people are free to criticise parts of his game, that's their prerogative. I find the whole endeavour largely absurd though - he's been a quality contributor for 8 years and if anything he's in career best form. Whatever floats your boat though I guess.
One thing though, if you truly want the detractors to give it away, maybe don't bait them.
I watched it and laughed (..... good to see he cares FA for basketball!!)On 7 Game Day.... Showed Ben Simmons and fellow Boomers @ bombers match
Thought they played soccer...... not big on other sports. .. Classic
