Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

you can be critical without mzking outrageous claims, try it or perhaps you can go with geds to BF and join the rest of the irate mob

I'll tell you where to go in a minute pal.

Do you even read the RFC board on BF? That place is even more delusionally positive & irrational than here on the whole. You'd be much more at home there than me, shouting down all the realists with the rest the fools who all accept & endorse mediocrity over there.

im done with you. you post absolute crap at best

Everyone knew as a Tivendale style outside runner that if the side doesn't go well then Bachar is going to struggle. What I really, really like at the moment is that Houli is being challenged by Dimma each week to both provide run and carry AND take on a player who to my mind is much better than him and will really hurt us if Houli doesn't work his butt absolutely off.

Love it. Houli may never ever turn into an AFL player of note. But he is being given every opportunity this year by Hardwick to do more than look good when RFC wins. As a player with not too many games on the clock a few good hidings are the only way to learn. We really are 12 - 24 months away from know what the outcome of Dimma's challenge is - but I just love the fact that he is being given the opportunity to get the most out of himself.

grimes was worse

Agree with this. Grimes was badly beaten.

I actually saw Houli put his head over the ball a couple of times in the second half and do some good contested work.

Given how inexperienced our backline is it will always be pretty vulnerable when the opposition delivers the ball I50 the way the bulldogs did today. But we really lack a KPD general that leads the backline and provides a cool head.

By comments like this and abusing everyone who rightly point his flaws and the fact he played like sh!t. Though it's not quite as laughable as your hissy fit defending our Big Doofus of a ruckman.

Stop being an obnoxious self-appointed arbiter of who & what people can and can't critique. :police:

the irony :rofl

Poor game from Bachar today unfortunately but he had some mates.

Ive said it before he is soft, the heat was on today he wasnt anywhere to be seen, couple of contests he didnt go at cost goals, he didnt hit a contest when he shouldve which cost the first goal. Looked ok last 3 weeks when the run was on ..... downhill skier imo, hasnt changed.

Gotta agree, he doesn't like the tough stuff at all. A skilled outside runner, who needs to play fruther up the field.

his tackling and lack of effort at times today was the worst iv seen by a richmond player....and thats sayin somethn! If he doesnt improve that, and put his body on the line he will be known to me as "pea heart"
very good post, but i dont agree with it all that much, so i will ask you somethn

Nothing wrong with Houli at all. He is never going to be an inside mid, so people should stop trying to pidgeon hole him for it. His positives far outweighed his negatives today and for a bloke travelling so well this year I would have thought the thinly veiled stabs in his back are premature.
yes, yes, cn'oath and yes

How far have we come this season.

We have gone from bagging players who have a poor performance over a number of weeks to slaughtering careers over a couple of bad qtrs of footy.

Things must be improving at Tigerland.

Houli wasn't at his best today, but he was no orphan.

geez your really funny! give youself a :clap ......hero! Were you at the game? Even for a pea brain i think if i was bachar id be trying my upmost to win over my new teammates and supporters with at least some sort of effort in regards to chasing and tackling! I suggest you have a look at some of his efforts, they were an embarrassment to the jumper, no excuse for not trying surely! Or you think the hard work should be just left to a few?

TT your claim re the worst effort by a tiger player is a bit over the top, no one is as bad as mcmuffins tackling efforts. That aside bachar did have a bad day out but its only one game, his previous five have been good so cut him some slack.

He was played out of position, was targetted tactically by the opposition & had a lot of mates who were down yesterday

It's Bachar's big go next week, I hope his character will lead to a seriously improved performance not played in the back 50

How many times did I have nightmare flashes back to McMuffin running around every time Callum Ward got the ball. Yes, I understand that we probably wouldn't have taken Ward at that pick but a player of Ward's calibre running around in our team now would be very nice.

No doubt he was ordinary but I don't think half back/ or back pocket is a good spot for him. He's going to be beaten 1 on 1 pretty regularly. Should be on the wing.

agree - he and grigg should be part of our midfield rotation. Grigg should be our run with player at the expense of jackson who struggles to effectively tag anyone.

I’ll have to watch the game again, but I didn’t think Houli was that bad on the weekend. Beaten, but not our worse.

He actually got 11 contested possessions, which may be a career high

Played out of position?????

Please.......

Maybe we can find him a position on the ground where he doesn't have to win a one on one contest?

Tivendale --> McMahon --> Houli = Same Player

I'm really disappointed in Houli. When a Richmond player is competing one on one, with an opposition player of similar stature, he should be at worst a 50/50 chance to win the contest. Whenever I see Houli in a one on one I am filled with a sense of relief if he can just hold the ball in and bring play to a halt. I reckon he's only a 10% chance to tackle/stop his opponent let alone beat him. (by opponent I'm referring to someone of the same physical size - I'm not expecting him to outmark Will Minson).

When it's his turn to go he picks and chooses. He does go, but not all the time. He looks to have no second effort and spends a lot of time spent sprawled on the ground. Even Miller can break even and force a contest.

Richmond are obviously aware of his deficiencies and think they can turn him around but he's got a long way to go. He was exposed on the weekend by Eade and he can expect more of the same against his old side next week ,who will be well aware of his shortcomings. He needs to have a good look at Batchelor, if he wants an example to follow, on how to compete.
