150 games for the Tigers is great for Bash given that he came from a terrible upbringing at a ghetto club full of syringes and ice pipes.
Come on TF, I know it's the Western Suburbs but Spotswood FC isn't that bad

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

27 touches today but not a memorable game. Pulled out of a couple of contests and panicked on a few others.

Has been showing an improvement on his hardness at the ball the last few weeks but not today.

His goal kicking radar has been off the year, is he carrying an injury?

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

Liked to see that Houli is getting his fitness and running game going again.

Have missed him gut running forwards, creating holes.

His goal kicking has always been pretty *smile* for a guy who is acclaimed as a good kick. 39.50 is a pretty poor return.

His running is a feature of his game, did notice him pull out of one contest on the wing but no point getting yourself smashed for no reason. And we have enough hard nuts in defence to cover him there. He complements the defence with his amazing support running though.

A bit derogatory insinuating he is soft, bloody good player in my books and has been for a long time.

What a half back flankers goal kicking is off ::) I see the positive of meters gained to get in that position.

Congrats you have managed to find 3 negatives and 1 positive in a good game by Bachar.

You need to look on the bright side of light ;D

His kicking has an arc, which makes it difficult for him to kick goals from the skinny side.

The hard stuff is not really his go, i recall Mark Williams saying in an interview they had to really work hard at getting Bachar to improve his contested stuff. It's not his go, nor would I expect him to get himself smashed stupidly ala Selwood etc. He is not the same type as Grimes/Vlas, which is fine, we need his outlet running.

His goal kicking is poor for a guy who is noted as a great field kick. I reckon most lefties carry this tag of a beautiful kick yet not sure they are any more accurate.

He showed what he is capable of in the GF (thought he was BOG).

We'd all love Bash n all our other players to never miss, but 90 shots at goal from a HBF is not a bad input at all.

Not sure which contest Bash " pulled out of " yet you then contradict by saying there's no point getting smashed for no reason. Long been a bug bear of mine that there's often players who can't read what's going on n simply crash extra bodies in the aren't needed instead of staying out n " lurking " for the spillage. If there's already a pack coming at an incoming ball, I'm more than happy for Bash or any other player to hang out of the contest n crumb, it's standard and expected procedure for the forwards. Should be the same on the wing or defence.

Certainly remember one where he basically pulled out (against North).
And there are occasionally times (over a season) where he seems to panic in a highly congested situation and he'll do something daft such as dish off a handball to a player in a bad position.
At the same time I reckon he's got better over the years with that bravery stuff and there's been other occasions he's stood firm in a situation where he might get crunched (and where a few years ago he might have been tentative).
But gee - on balance he's continues to be a great asset to the team.

Agree with that. Been saying this for years. It’s illusory.

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

Peter Burge confirmed that Bachar has a groin strain which will keep him out till after the bye, big blow. That would mean 5 weeks on the sidelines until we play the Swans after the bye. His drive & tank off half back will be missed. Starting to become a little too injury prone with his soft tissue injuries.

Does Markov take his place

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

No we've already got Short and Tgga.

Brandon will get first chance to replace Bash, but he'll be best suited to the Wing using his hard running back into defence to help out.

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

If he's fit, would expect Grub to slot straight back into his usual role n Bobble will become the other running half back along with Shorty. Should adequately cover for Bash being out injured as long as Bobble takes his extra half second to use the ball properly.

Re: Bachar "Premiership Player" Houli

I don't come to this site often enough anymore.

Who the hell are Grub and Bobble?
