Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Very goos with ball in hand - still needs some work on his defensive positioning. I guarentee the review would have highlighted him letting luke power get goal side at a fwd stoppage that cost us a goal. He knew himself straight away but we need to nail these things down.

Overall has been a good pick up, makes sound offensive decisions and disposes of it well

Apart from the odd stoppage clanger a good game by Bacher.

Is starting to turn leysy's opinion of him around.

Fair assessment.
Has been harder at the ball the past couple of weeks. No doubt a directive by the coaching staff as those that have been poor in certain areas have been dropped.

This was my biggest concern with him in the first few practice matches I saw him in. Watched him avoid a few contests when it was his turn to go. Credit to him (and the coaching staff) that he has improved on that. It was one of Dimma team Rules that when it's your turn to go, you go and he certainly meant it!

Reckon we will have to live with the odd defensive blunder. He also could have put in an effort to spoil Banfield in the first when he marked uncontested but he has provided really smart support play. Jury still out for me but his last 2 games have been good.

I personally thought that Edwards was the one who should have provided the required contest with Banfield.

Edwards couldn't make the contest but bachar could have but just stood and watched. To his credit he seemed to realise his error and next opportunity to go he went in hard.

I noticed that too, yandb. Bachar is an improver. A credit to himself and the panel. Could keep on doing it.

Shows how important the Fighting Tiger fund is,as Blair Hartley shows how important it is to put money into certain areas,Houli & Grigg have both been great pickups so far.

do we have too many one sided left footers in the back half? Newman, Houli, Batchelor, Grigg. too predictable.

Also what's with left footers, why can't they use their right? can't think of one leftie who could use his right.

Not many Harry.

But leysy will give you two - Simon Black & Luke Hodge.

Black rarely uses it but isn't hopeless. Never seen him kick long on the opposite foot though. (unlike Dusty)

I thought that Houli was very good last week. His kicking really is top notch and he seems to have good vision too. I like the way he is running into good spots and the other players are really starting to use him. I thought that he held his own in contested situations aswell.

Tough marker Big Cat. Black is very good on his right for leysy. Very accurate & can hit up a target under pressure consistently without him or the receiver breaking stride.

Did it on the weekend actually as he's done for 10+ years. Great kick.

On Dusty, totally agree he is great on either side. such power. But as a right footer a seperate arguement. That brings in guys like Cameron, Aker, our own Chimp along with plenty of others.

Bacher has pleasantly surprised me. His vision with long handballing out of congestion has been first class.
his kicking still let's him down occasionally but the more games I watch this year the more I'm noticing that because of the forward pressure and tackling most teams are putting on, a lot more kicks arent quite hitting the target so I'll cut him a bit of slack for that.
