Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

A couple of games to find his feet within the team and he's starting to blossom. Playing some very tidy footy is Bachar.

Really like his footskills!!! He is showing some great signs and with more time playing with the group, same as for the rest of the boys, will only get better and better.

I know people keep talking up his footskills... but in a team where I see so many handballs miss the target, I am loving Bachar's handballs to team mates running past - opens up the play, hits the target without breaking stride. Much better than too many of our other players who miss handball targets under pressure, or fire one behind the player running past to receive.

I like the analogy. He is just slowly getting more integral to the team. I wonder where he will get to. Grigg for Collins and Bachar for nothing. Damn is this working for us or what.

He's last 2 games have been tremendous footskills and even those handballs are a damn delight to see...

A few times he held back last night in contests but at the same time i saw him go in packs on the ground and in the air more times than in previous weeks so good to see another area of his game thats his working and improving on....

Great game.

Underrated player IMO. Not sure why people think he can only play outside. Always went when it was his turn.

looks to be a natural footballer to me , great hoof , hard worker and has a knack of finding plenty of the pill...very pleased with him

I still love having a sneaky peak at Essendon forums after each of our games, all of a sudden the bummer Bachar knockers have gone a bit quiet in the last 2 weeks.

On a little side note...Reimers is the biggest down bill skier I've ever seen, would've been easy to kick 8 goals today against GC when no one mans you up.

should start a call of "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOULI" when he hoofs the ball.

Think his best is yet to come. Can play. Just needs to get super fit and learn Dusty's, Cotch's and Foley's patterns. If he runs by those three 30 times a week he will get 20 kicks. We also want him kicking the ball. Should aim for 1-1.5 hanball to kick ratio.

The fact that both Hird and Judd tried to keep both Houli and Grigg at thier respective clubs tells you about the type of low key targets we went after.

agree

Doing exactly what he was brought to the club to do - get plenty of the ball and link up play. His kicking is good on the switch and to kick over opposition zones. Playing well and to get him for basically nothing then thats even more of a bonus.

Blood oath. Does anyone else feel a sense of relief when he gets the ball? Just seems to think through any situation.

Fair assessment.
Has been harder at the ball the past couple of weeks. No doubt a directive by the coaching staff as those that have been poor in certain areas have been dropped.
Also been interesting to see him given tasks on Harvey and Power the past fortnight. No doubt looking to strengthen his defensive skills. Dimma's 'two way footballer' modus operandi is in full swing.
Good to see from Bachar. Hope he keeps the intensity up because I've been very impressed in his past two games.
