Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Don't know much about him but Saad was Coburg's B&F, he would have been a perfect foil for Houli.
Adam Saad this weeks NAB rising star winner.

Houli made Mark Robinson's top 10 'likes':

4. BACHAR HOULI: If this bloke wasn’t playing for the Tigers they would be in far greater strife. Arguably his best game of his career against the Cats with career-best disposals (33), career-best tackles (9) and one off his career-best rebounds (eight). A simple tactic to stop Richmond’s run is to close Houli down. Clubs try, but they can’t do it. Go on, say it aloud, NINE TACKLES FOR HOULI. The whole Carlton team had 47.

Ripping player, if more of his team mates had the consistency of effort n input of Bash, we'd have bloody little to whinge about.

Yep - just about the least of our problems this season.

Weak at the contest. Typical panic game when under physical pressure. Go to ground when it gets difficult is the mantra.

Goes OK against the weak clubs .... Useless against the top clubs!
Not the future!
Trade while he still has value.

Frigggin amazing. Has been in our Top 5 players every game this yet the same ole detractors come out trying point out fault where ever possible.

If his name was Barry Howard he wouldn't cop half the *smile* he's getting better this year.

Ok here we go ..... ::)

I put him in the same boat as Grigg, Petterd, Gordon!
Too many limitation and not the future!

The old race card? Watch him when things get difficult, he fumbles falls or fades. He has many good qualities, he has some good afl traits but in the heat is simply woeful. Missed tackles, bent knees, fumbles. is he currently our best Hof option - no. Deledio is my pick on one flank and Macintosh on the other but unfortunately Houli is next best. But those calling him a potential AA are nuts IMO.
But F off with the race card please, I could care less if he was a member of the kkk, the Taliban a Buddhist monk or an ALex Rance - I just reckon he's got too many weaknesses especially under pressure - the going to ground routine drives me nuts.

Bachar is OK, but I can't see him being the player you could rely on in the BIG pressure games, not that the Tigers have played too many of those sorts of games over the last three decades.
Has done some good stuff at times and some useful foot skills, and he seems to be a good man, yet he doesn't inspire the team in a way that makes them play stronger or harder.
And there is no doubt when the pressure is really on that he is not the most confident or reliable of players.
But Bachar isn't on his own. Too many players on the list just can't handle even moderate heat let alone the full-on intensity that the best teams seem to be able to absorb, endure and ultimately, more often than not, overcome.

Another flawed Richmond footballer. And too small. Freo have a 200cm half back running around tonight A.Pearce ffs not to mention Johnson.

Sort of sums-up some of the backline woes. Apart from Rance there is not much to look forward to over the next two to three seasons when it comes to defenders. And there is this growing swell that Rancey is off to better climes, in whatever guise they may be.
