Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Played well... Agree with Hutstar he is short on mates running it out, in Leppas presser he even mentioned they had a plan to shut houli down, i think all teams realize we are short on helping him, hopefully drummond or C. Ellis can come in at some stage as being one dimensional will/has hurt us!

Considering that a few had Houli BOG or close to, Leppa's plan didn't work very well.

Thought that was the best "All round" game I've seen him play.

He's had bigger numbers before, but tonight he took marks backing into packs, made good decisions, hit targets and had a huge influence on the game - loved it. :clap

Yeah i think Leppa also admitted that :hihi

I guess what i was getting at is he was very well held vs Dogs, teams try to cut off supply lines and we have to few, its a balance as our defence for past 3 years has been very good at restricting high scores but it also doesn't get the pill out quick enough to provide our own high score.... Houli needs to improve by foot i50 also..

I reckon the problem against the good teams is that he is short on mates. He can't do it himself when the forward pressure is on, but can't blame him for that. He is a bloody good player, but needs a little more help when we are trying to going forward.

His "mates" weren't making him fumble, turn the ball over and not tackle last week!

I'm glad he had a good game ..... But it was against probably the weakest side in the competition at the moment.

Has to produce games like that against good sides and cut out the glaring mistakes to convince me.

Good comment. Hopefully it looks like McIntosh's strength and run through people is going to give him some support out of defence / halfback. We certainly need something down there

Agree too. There are some candidates amongst our youngsters. Ellis will end up in the midfield but likely to start at half-back. Not quick but a beautiful user and creates time for himself. George Castagna has the dash, needs to work on his defensive side and his finishing. Menadue would be perfect if he had another 10kg on him. Drummond I'm unsure about. I reckon defensive forward is more his go if he's to make it.

Worst game ever, his run down the ground and the kick which went 45 degrees to the intended target typified his night.

Downhill skier. Has always been so.

Like so many looks great against the *smile* sides found out when the pressure is applied.

Represents all that is wrong with this *smile* of a club.

When time and space is at a premium, Houli is not worth a sack of *smile*.

This has been obvious to anyone who took the time to notice since 2010.

Exactly.

Got crucified by the Richmond coaching box. Got dragged deep every opportunity.

And our coaching box did nothing to free him up.

Agree. . . . . Paul Roos knows how Houli plays so he drags him back towards the goals and makes him accountable for an opponent, which in turn completely stuffs Houli who,
1.cannot defend and 2.takes away the his forward set up from half back!

We already have two players who are far better wingers than Houli, give him a stint in the two's if he cant perform in his position.

And this is the way it remains all game....why doesn't dimma switch him to wing or a half foward flank then ?
