Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

An elite runner (albeit without pace) but poor one on one and poor under pressure. He keeps running which is great but still goes to ground too often, fails to win the one on ones and conceded a couple of soft frees that were disappointing. Disposal under prssure is suspect, not sure where his best position is.

Made a lot of mistakes, however was one of the few down back who continued to run the whole game. Definitely need another running half back to compliment him.

I was at the game yesterday , although he wasnt exactly good , sadly , he stood out as one of a few at least attempting to take the game on when Port were giving it to us

He was probably our best. He put 4 quarters in and had a go all day, some of his better credentialled and thought of team mates weren't able to do the same thing. A few players got badly exposed yesterday on a number of levels.

knew it wasn't our day when in the first he bounced the ball and lost possession from that action. Turn over goal.

Only way to win finals is to make them. go again in 2015!!! When was the last time we made 3 finals in a row??

I'd have to say '75. Won '73 and '74 and I'm pretty sure North put us out of the finals race in '75.

After playing in the wet for the last 4 games the fast track caught all the players by surprise. We weere not prepared for the bounce and pace

I'd prefer him to go on the wing, but I'm not sure who you would then replace him with out of the back half.

Me too and he did stand out.

Yes, it was. '74 was the 3rd GF appearance on the trot. Gee, what I wouldn't give for those days back.

Nup, 75 was 5 in a row. We came 3rd in 71. As a kid I regarded that as a massive failure at the time.

Yep pretty true however we were (and are) underprepared for pace.

Same in my house. I remember my father being filthy over the loss in '75.

Naah, we were done and dusted. End of an era. Reckon in hindsight we over-achieved. Like Geelong this year. Finished fourth and managed to beat second placed Carlton (who were going out in straight sets) without kicking a goal in the last quarter of a lacklustre 1st Semi.

71 and 72 were the ones that got away. Although I suspect if we'd won in 72 we might not have won in 73. I still think there is an argument to say all four Richmond v Carlton Grand Finals (69, 72, 73, 82) were won by the underdog.

Here's another stat ... we finished sixth or higher (i.e. top half) 11 years on the trot from 65 to 75.

We were done and dusted, but if Green had gone back and kicked the goal from 2 yards out rather than play on and have Crosswell touch it over for a point we would have been a goal down in the last in the preliminary against North with 3 minutes to go and Roycey and KB et al would have won it from there.

North didn't look back, went coast to coast to win the preliminary and deservedly won their first flag the week after.

We were a bit like Geelong now. We were cooked but still wouldn't accept it and played on memory, belief and arrogance.
