Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

We don't have to. Just stop quoting him so those of us who know how to use the ignore function don't have to have our IQ lessened involuntarily.

Interesting assumptions

Thank God, whichever one you like, for Bachar Houli. When his team-mates were panicking during the last quarter he held firm and repelled the Blues with strong spoils, desperate defence and neat disposal.

He has developed into a very good player, precisely because he has added a reliable defensive aspect to his game during his period at Richmond. I suspect many of his critics still see the tentative, proppy player who wore his jumper for his first 40 games or so. That player was reluctant to place his head over the ball and didn't like too much body contact in marking contests. He probably still doesn't like it, but now he grits his teeth and does it anyway. He is a very reliable one-on-one player.

Watched the reply again. He didn't do much, if anything, wrong.

So glad he saw through the *smile* that is a James Tird plea to remain at the bombers

Has played better this year but can only play one of houli Newman Griggs Edwards as their tackle counts are seemingly always low
He is the best of a bad bunch mentioned above so must play

good post. Houli is a star.

how could anyone say otherwise?

just a class act.

Bachar is OK. He is trying to improve his game by adding some more grit. It doesn't necessarily come naturally to him, but i am impressed by his determination to get in and have a fair dinkum crack. He's been solid so far this season, and that's not a bad thing in my book. By the time he hits the 100 game mark in his career he will have developed into a very handy and important player for the Tigers.

Thought he played well.
He dodged a bullet leaving Ess just before Hird got there.

Played ok, but watching him from the fence, he refuses to go to a contest if his opponent isn't involved.
The goal that daisy thomas forced the ball back into play, houli could've/should've been the first to the ball, but he didn't go and Carlton kicked a goal.

It's not just a game. It's also some kind of penny opera. Something a little bit grand for everyone.

The great enjoyment in watching Houli work the way he did at crucial stages in last week's game was that it was a career highpoint to date. Not by a street but by a little.

I am a sucker for steady improvers because if they can so can I. Bachar Houli was just a little bit grand. That's inspiring.

The thing about Houli is he is aware of his weaknesses and does something about them. Through his hard work improving every season he is becoming the complete footballer. Highly rated by most of his peers and Tigers supporters

I've become a big Houli fan and am bemused by those Tiger supporters who don't see him as an integral part of the future. For a player previously seen as a liability overhead and perhaps one who "sleeps with the lights on", he is now rarely beaten in the air and displayed commendable bravery on a number of occasions on Thursday. Carlton thought him important enough to tag (Ellard).

Rapidly closing on a much-deserved 100th game.

Of all of Hartley's signings, probably the best at this stage perhaps with the exception of Chaplin. Been extremely consistent off HBF for us. Offers a lot more in his role, than someone like Grigg does in his imo.

yeah his marking has improved out of sight. I always thought he was doing his job from day 1, even if I didn't have much faith in his marks under pressure, but he has improved as the side has improved, which is the ideal really

Today was the 3rd time he has panicked and missed a simple target and cost us the game.
Today he missed griffo NO PRESSURE lost the game
Final he missed Ellis NO PRESSURE 37 points up
Freo game missed knights lost the game.

Panick merchant of the highest order.

I don't usually buy into the hysteria about labelling Houli a squib. But today he hung back on several occasions. Was a poor effort today and contributed to our demise no doubt. The only consolation after watching the footy tonight is that he's much braver than Clinton Young.

theres clear evidence that players kahunas enlargen under hardwick.

On performances to date for season 2014, I would have to seriously question that statement, Golly.
The Tigers are more like pea hearts at the moment. If they ever grow some kahunas then we might see some progress.
