Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Last week Bachar looked like the old Houli. Too many crises.

But tonight he was great. He stood up under physical pressure and even handed out some punishment.

Worked both ways and was very hard in the air at crucial times.

Next to Thomas was about my best. Was creative when we lost that, was tough when we tired, was clean when we fumbled, marked when we couldn't, ran when we had stopped.

Gee some are easily pleased. Softest player we have by a mile. Goes to ground at nearly every contest and the slightest contact has him losing balance and turning over the ball. Would rather Madonna in his place.

I didn't think Bachar had it in him to be this good. In the past, it stood out to see him shrug his shoulders when he would back into a marking contest but he now takes some gutsy marks, he hits the contest hard and wins one on ones consistently.

I got to stop calling him Fish and Chip man... his cousins own a really good Fish n Chip shop in Murrumbeena (Murrumbeena Rd). Close cousins but part of quite expansive family :)

On footy
Though he run and carried the ball much better last night without dusty being in his way. Could have scored a nice goal but just missed it in the 3rd i think. Has good pace, needs to be played in areas where we can utilise it more often.

I completely agree, he dropped his head and went to ground at that marking contest during the last.... Oh, wait, no he didn't - he took that mark and potentially saved us the game. Pair that mark with an important tackle on the wing and he well and truly deserved his spot in the team.

Rather than being a negative for the sake of it, bring something with a little more substance to the table.

We don't have to. Just stop quoting him so those of us who know how to use the ignore function don't have to have our IQ lessened involuntarily.

Houli is not a concern for us in anyway.
Yep! Just plays a very reliable consistent half back sweeping role for us. A quiet favourite of mine, just enjoy watching the bushy beard carving pathways through the opposition n firing out tracers off the trusty left boot.

Hear hear. Oxygen starvation is the best solution.

The problem is that you are using an actual fact that can be proved by watching the game, not just spewing vitriol for the sake of it. That's the Dud's mo.
