I sure Hardwick had a pretty big say in what went on in our camps just as I’m sure that Pyke did during his time at Adelaide. In fact, Pyke was an active participant in the infamous Adelaide camp and was even part of the same group as Jenkins and Betts when their personal information was shared publicly.

If we go after vfl flag coaches how about Gary Ayres ?
Fly was promoted from vfl coach to an assistant at Richmond. As was Chris Newman at Hawthorn.
I think that gives you an idea of what the hierarchy is

Pyke is a gun coach. He went off the rails after losing the 2017 GF but he will have learnt a lot from that and it won't be repeated. He returned to Sydney and completely turned that team around.

Pyke is damaged goods as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't want him anywhere near our club, he can stay in Sydney.

BS - Pyke is a footy coach not a camp organiser

That’s twice you’ve thrown up Ayres lately. ZERO chance a coach goes from coaching a suburban club (ie Montrose) to coaching an AFL club.

I’d be looking at an untried coach in the hope of unearthing another Dimma

Pyke as senior coach would have authorized the camp and signed off on the itinerary at the very least. But we no from first hand reports he was actively involved in the camp and in particular some of the more “problematic” activities.

Pyke showed an incredible lack of judgement both before, during and after the camp and while he eventually apologized he took years to get to that point.

He should never be a senior coach again, anywhere.

Even putting the camp aside, Pyke's GF17 coaches box performance also disqualifies him as a senior coach, I reckon. Watch the GF again and pay attention to Pyke in the coaches box when the Tiges get on their 7 goal run. He's sitting there doing the gasping goldfish when his team and line coaches are looking to him for guidance on what to do.
