Might have stamped his own papers if Port smash us. We wait and see if he can get a lift.

Looks like from the surface at least, he's going to stick with the same formula that Dimma went with.

Ross said at the presser they threw everything at Mini to cross to the Saints, implying a pay rise at the start of the season.
Therefore Ross and Balme both speak highly of him.
Balme is the elder statesman, could have stayed silent on the topic, endorsed Mini.

I didn’t think we were seriously considering mini when Balme said that there wouldn’t be much change as we were sticking with the way Dimma did things.

That’s okay if that’s the way he operates naturally but I don’t think the club needs a Dimma clone. It’s time for fresh ideas and a new approach.

I'm not saying "tank". I'm saying "play the kids". I'm thinking more about next year and beyond. We need to get games into the players of the future, expecially with no first rounder this year. We need to know which kids can compete at the level. Yes, this may benefit GWS but we need to do whats right for our future and carrying kids into next year and beyond that can't compete at the level is not looking after our future
If we play too many at once you risk finding out that none of them can play because they don’t have enough experienced players around them.

Isn't that what the Hawks did. Cleared out most of their experienced players & consequently dropped like a stone. I really hope we don't go down that track.

There will be time enough for that , I get the impression club is hell for leather to try and make finals , it was why they thought the dimma send off would have lacked necessary prep the game warranted . I’m prepared to see how it all unfolds , I’d like to see youngy in as an extra tall , push forward even

That’s twice you’ve thrown up Ayres lately. ZERO chance a coach goes from coaching a suburban club (ie Montrose) to coaching an AFL club.

The first one was a joke. The second one was in response to KK lauding people who had won flags in state leagues.

Of course I’m not suggesting Gary Ayres

Playing finals by rewarding players with another game that refused to chase, couldn’t kick goals when the game was there to be won, were timid when it was their turn and don’t get dropped
Good luck keeping that finals dream real

We’ll, we do things out side the box.
We’ve drafted players from reserve grades.
Why not a coach?

Gary Ayres has the same winning % at AFL level as Dimma. Good judge really?
