Andrew 'Mini' McQualter

I think Mini has cooked the sausages 11 times, won't go past13.
He's cooked.

Surely we won't keep him to stop a player revolt?

What the players are dishing up now....

Now that's revolting!

Happy to put some noses out of joint and start the cull.

Again this is not a Bingo club.
It is a ruthless environment governed by a bottom line of Wins against Losses, then ultimate Success!

Need clear thinking.

We are already into Year 4 (2024) of the new drought!
Year 4 already!

It's Brutal.
It has to be.

If he dropped some senior players who weren’t performing (grimes a major one and probably Cotchin the other and maybe even jack but the cupboard bare on other KPFs) and played some kids he probably would have got the gig. Integrity of selection and would have shown he had the kahunas to make some really tough calls.

Im not making my call based on the results(i think its unfair to do so) but more on what he's said and done selection wise over the past few weeks that makes me believe he's not really going to change much and will still play favourites with the senior core over making some tough choices that may not be in the best interests of players he's close with

When Mini took over from Dimma the players supposedly said they loved Mini.
Yesterdays performance showed an unusual type of love with a possible final’s berth on the line.

Mini has won the race will be signed on a 3 year deal in next 2 weeks

Blew them away with vision clarity and the way he has conducted himself in defeats they took more from that then the wins

I’ve been open minded the whole while , this last month presented a genuine challenge, we didn’t have to win them all but make a contest at least ,,,we’ve been obliterated, team defence out the window is the big one ,I’ve seen more intensity on team photo day ,it’s a coach killer , I’m sorry mini

The biggest challenge is if the board and Benny think we are a chance at a tilt in the next 2 years. They will make the wrong call. Success has a way of self delusion. It's happened before and will happen again.
The right coach for the RFC is the one who says we need a complete rebuild from the bottom up. It will either happen now or in 3 years after the next coach fails to deliver a finals spot.

I reckon the whole “players love McQualter” thing has been completely blown out of proportion. Every player I’ve heard has just trotted out the standard “yeah of course he could do the job…he’s a good coach … been here for years so we know him” stuff.

What else are they gonna say ?

In fact, by just trotting out the standard stuff, I dunno if they really do want him as coach or not ?

I've been a big Mini supporter. The close wins were a big turnaround on the last few years. Thought he had something, players seemed invested more than ever. Last few weeks was very smelly. Resting blokes for key matches, poor selections, lack of energy, senior players stinking it up etc.
Mini's stocks are down but there must be other contributing factors at play. Dimma news, GC poaching, just checked out for next year, factions between pro and anti mini? As much as the players say it doesn't affect them, blokes on here are melting down over Dimma doing GC. Imagine if it was your coach, the dude you were in the trenches your whole career leaving you? I reckon there's some loss and grieving at play here. I think the first few week's sugar hit was a mirage and the wheels should've always fallen off considering the predicament. We had a crap preseason, crap season up to Dimma leaving. We should not be surprised how this has played out.

Nice intel if true.

I saw Mini at a recent function & he was super impressive.
Would like to see how he goes with his own ideas rather than an implemented game plan.

Unlike others I would not discount him one bit.
