A high currency has bitten us, made us less competitive, our manufacturing has fallen further, and we have lost jobs accordingly.

Since you think we have "forgotten" this, what would the correct policy response according to your good self?

We can see in Victoria over the last few months of closing factories around the western and northern suburbs.
It further reflects itself in the closing of private schools in those areas, as fees become out of reach.

Or maybe those schools were mismanaged financially.

The latest statistical data released has only just taken in this data

The latest data just took in data?

More conspiracy hey HArry. I watched that crackpot Alex Jones, he,s a great advert for NOT subscribing to the conspiracy theorist method. What a loud, obnoxious, over bearing tool....with a dose of paranoia too!

Re: America, will they ever learn?

Given this some further thought and have decided I could care less about the States and their guns. Nothing there will change. It is what is.

I do know that I am happy that we don't have a similar gun culture in Australia and if the hand wavers are making a difference on that front, long may they keep raising their voice.

How disrespectful is this

Such disappointing to read how set in their minds some people that they can disrespect someone else who has suffered a huge loss.

Also were semi automatic guns around when the second amendment was done, as if they were not I would be surprised that is what they had in mind when they said they had the right to bear arms.

You just have to shake your head at times.

Memphis, Tennessee: A gun discharged inside a 5-year-old kindergartener's backpack at a Tennessee elementary school cafeteria on Thursday, though no one was hurt, officials said.
A statement from the Shelby County school district said the gun went off inside a kindergarten student's backpack as students were waiting for the opening bell in the cafeteria of Westside Elementary School. There were no injuries. School staffers immediately took control of the backpack.
School security officers and the Memphis Police Department responded to the incident, the district said. The child was detained and was still being questioned by officers on Thursday afternoon, with the child's mother present. Investigators were trying to determine how the gun ended up in the backpack, police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said.

Students were kept safe and calm while the matter was handled, the district said.
There was no evidence of harmful intent, the school district said.
"However, weapons of any kind are prohibited on campuses, and this student will be disciplined in accordance with the state's zero tolerance policy," the statement said.
The zero-tolerance policy calls for "certain, swift and reasoned punishment" for students who bring drugs or guns to school. It could include suspension or expulsion.
Some parents went to the school to check on their children after hearing about what happened from media reports. The school sent a letter to parents to inform them of the situation and also called them in the afternoon with an update, district spokeswoman Stefani Everson said.
The district also said its ParentLink communication system, which is used to notify parents of school-wide emergency situations, was not used because it was "an isolated and controlled situation that occurred before the school day started and did not involve any individual or school-wide threat," Ms Everson wrote in an email.

"A MOVIE-GOER was shot dead following an apparent row over loud texting.

Police said two people were shot at Florida's Wesley Chapel movie theatre after an argument over a man texting his three-year-old daughter grew violent.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office told Tampa Bay's 10news two couples were sitting in front of each other and were getting ready to watch Lone Survivor when the argument broke out.

Sheriff Chris Nocco said the alleged killer then took out a gun and shot the man and woman sitting in front of him.

Both were taken to hospital where the man was pronounced dead and the woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It is understood both couples did not know each other and police are treating the shooting as an isolated incident.

Witness Charles Cummings told FOX 13 he heard the victim say he was texting his daughter before he was shot.

"Their voices start going up, there seems to be a confrontation, somebody throws popcorn, then bang, he was shot," Mr Cummings said.

"I heard the victim say, 'I can't believe ...,' then he fell on us."

"I asked if the guy was OK, and he started gurgling blood and then fell."

The shooter was taken into police custody and is expected to face charges. "

How's them guns America?....

First, a 22 year old contestant from The Voice gets shot for no motive, and now another lunatic shoots people in a nightclub. Both from Orlando, Florida.

Scaremongering media calling it Islamic terrorism as usual.

Another report saying it was a Gay Bar.
So it could be the loony right.

Yep.

The Pulse in Orlando, Florida is a gay bar, and a reality show contestant killed while signing autographs = loony. Still no motive found and the latter sounds like a John Lennon style shooting from a deranged fan.

US news shows are so pathetic and repetitive. They've stated the nightclub killer is a gunman and yet continue spurting out terrorism.

It was an act of Islamic terrorism and has been claimed as such. If anything, the media are too scared to call it as it is.

Strange, the media I read are calling it what it is.

Re: America, will they ever learn?

Apparently the FBI investigated the shooter re IS links and found nothing.
His ex wife says he had mental issues.
FWIW I think it's too early to know for sure.

Yep. This is more to do with homophobia than terrorism which is a word so widely spread since 9/11.

Just another nutcase like the loony at Lindt Café in Sydney, but anyway, keep selling those guns America.
