Congrats to Rance on responding to Dimma's call for improvement in the defenders this week ... played the game on his life and showed much improved confidence with the ball in his hands.

Good post. McGuane also played a lot better this week.

still would prefer rance as the attacking 3rd tall defender, plays much better when allowed to be a bit creative and not purely focus on defending

He did both on Sat night. Watched a replay and his game was even better than I thought at the ground. His support play and decision making was fantastic

I still have my doubts, but as someone pointed out earlier, maybe due to his previous games. He is doing well at the momoent and I hope he continues to play like this, if not improve. Has earned his spot in the side.

Ran into a couple of opposition supporters who were raving about Rance's performance against the Dons ahead of Cotchin's.
Vickery too was getting a fair wrap.

Starting to get noticed a few Tiger talls.

This thread has been quiet tonight.

this time last week we were reading the "I told you sos" about Rance after his good game against the Bombers.

Well, tonight he was *smile* disgraceful. He is a fee kick waiting to happen. and his disposal....my god his disposal.

His form fluctuates more than perhaps any player on our list, and when he has games like tonight, they are *smile* costly.

I thought he was one of our better defenders tonight.

Made some mistakes but most players did.

Batchelor played some unaccountable footy tonight, and McGuane started okay too but was so-so after halftime.

Agree, was back to his JON impersonation. Makes you think whether Grimes getting to a lot of contests as 3rd tall made our backline more solid. Why do our good players always get injured!!! :'(

Here we go have a go at poor old Rance who is the only one working his guts out in the backline.

No one seems to have a go at the ones who had an ordinary game like Cotchin, Deledio, Reiwoldt etc...

Rance did his job well tonight and did much more than 2 errors.

it's time you guys had a look why the ball seems to come down to the backline that easy..

How many times can Farmer drop the ball??

thanks B2

Was good tonight did a great job.

Did not stop trying.

I agree he did do a good job. He was one of our better players after houli and Foley.

I must have been watching a different game to some around here. I can't comprehend how anyone could think he played well tonight. Overran the ball several times, dropped marks, gave away stupid free kicks and gave away at least one goal when he couldn't hit a target 15 metres away.

If that was a good game, then god help us when he plays a bad one.

Tonites efforts matched his game against the doggies, Just falls over toooo many times. But McGuane and farmer didnt help the situation. The last qtr was awful to match. Falling over, kicking over the head of team mate and that spoiling attempt was shocking

This.
Thought he was good tonight, made a few mistakes, but I'm certain only Houli and Foley were our good players tonight.

Singling Rance out this week would be just wrong.
