Alex Rance

4 weeks with a possible 3 week rub out is disgraceful but we all know what they are like. Waite getting off says more and adds to their disgraceful effort in previous years. Just dumbfounded again by a substandard process which continually seems to be found wanting.

Thursty has got a reasonable record on Riewoldt. McGuane to Kosi. Astbury to Gamble.

Easy change. But I reckon Rance is stiff to get three weeks. Sad too, would have liked to see him over the next three weeks.
Is Kosi even playing??

Anyway more importantly who takes Milne?

Stiff, went to check him off the ball, but accidental contact and it wasn't aggressive. Might be worth an appeal. But back in if he takes the 3.

Even with all of the rubbish judgments by the tribunal this one is again disappointing! Watching what happened, I thought it was accidental and perhaps even caused more by Waite than Alex.

Just leaves me scratching my head once again.

Dont believe everything you read Barnzy. Especially those stats.

They just updated all the profiles not that long ago after preseason. Astbury put on 6kg from last season, etc. Why wouldn't I believe it? Normally at worst there would only a 1 or 2cm variation or 1 or 2 kg variation. To drop 3kg from the previous year suggest to me he's lost some weight when already undersized for whatever reason instead of putting more on. So whether he's 86kg or 87kg he's still giving away 6-8kg's to most tall forwards in the game.

Do you think Goddard is 189 cms as well.

Yes. Seems similar size to Lids just built like a KPP (93kgs).

Nahas? I agree, it is a more important question. I'm tipping Milne has kicked more goals against us than anyone else on their list.

I also agree with the earlier comment. Thursty has a good record on Riewoldt. Has to play if he's fit.

Just get one of the guys to wear a schoolgirls outfit and that will occupy Milne for the night 8)

I think the will put Conca on Milne.

Rance needs to fight this his 4 week ban.

He's near on 193cms actually Barnzy. Decent sized difference to the "official" figures in anyone's language.

Their reasoning is that Goddard has the capacity to hurt in different ways and positions, with his elite kicking ability and Anthony Koutoufides-like dimensions. Contrary to the official listings (189 centimetres), Goddard says he is nearly 193. And as the grand final attested, he can take a serious grab when required.

As Leysy said dont believe everything you read when it comes to those numbers. Scarlett said his weight was out by about 5 kgs in an interview a year or so ago.

Seems like I'm the only one that thought Rance's hit was an illegal hit.

Just watching it over and over on the copy of the game I have on my PC, he clearly hip and shouldered Waite way off the ball, causing a concussion.

He ran off his player, aimed straight for Waite, hip and shouldered him off the ball, clobbering him.

As much as I hate Waite and the Blues, Rance was definitely in the wrong with what he did.

No, I agree. If you choose to bump off the ball, and cause concussion, you get a holiday. I personally don't agree with the length of the holiday in the context of other decisions made by the judiciary, but the suspension is defintely there.

It's official update figures Navy Leysy. A lot of players went up and down after preseason. The Goddard example seems to be a bit of a rarity. Sure, it might be 1-2kgs out but I think I'd rather believe it than believe Thursfield is some kind of big, strong, solid key defender. :hihi

I saw him in the NAB Cup and he still looked like a stick, perhaps even smaller than last year where I thought he was starting to put on some weight. Still way too skinny after 7 years in the system. Not good enough. He's going to be giving up 6-8kgs to any key forward he plays on. I want to move away from the skinny, small Richmond of the last few years and move towards being a strong, big, intimidating Richmond. Sure, Thursfield might be able to come in and do a decent job on Riewoldt given his past even being very undersized but I see no advantage in playing him and I'd rather he stays int he 2's as much as possible. I'd bring in someone like a Gourdis and see what he can do. Bigger, stronger, faster.

Thats all well & good but there is still no way known he weighs less than Grimes. As leysy showed those stats are far from gospel.

Wils a better bet than Gourdis as well. We'd be going backwards even further in the disposal stakes in our backline playing Goo.

Well then you're going to have to tell me what they both weigh then. Looking at recent training photos they both look skinny.

Disagree. We already know what Thursfield can do. I predict he will be delisted at the end of the year with plenty of time at Coburg.

bowden4president said:
according to the weights on our website he is.

:hihi

Grimes may weigh more but he's also a bit taller. Ratio wise Thursty is probably marginally heavier.
Not really worth a big debate.
FWIW I'd give Grimes a go ahead of stodgy Wil. Thursty's days are numbered & don't think we'll play both he and McGuane in defence.

The suspension appears to be bad news for Rancid in terms of his immediate prospects. But I dunno.

I'm very happy that after Waite was showing everybody what a hard man he is Alex laid him out. Good for the team. Good for football.

Waite is a *smile*. He had it coming. Alex did the job old school. Hopefully he's an automatic selection upon serving his sentence.

Thats interesting because when leysy's seen Thursfield could have swore he hasn't lost nothing weight wise from last year & looks stronger if anything.

This is no knock on Grimes either. Comfortably the best prospect of our key backs who will be given games at stages this year.
