Actually I just watched the footage again on the AFL site. I must've missed it the first glance and it was hard to tell at the ground. Rance deliberately runs off his opponent who's leading into the pocket and sideways straight into Waite's path and bumps him. I thought it was an accident but doesn't look like it properly looking at it. Still it's hard to tell if there was head contact. Footage is too zoomed out to say. They're probably going off the fact that Waite went off and was a bit groggy which is sketchy without proper evidence.

4 weeks is still probably too much though, maybe 1 or 2.
Garbage, Rance is running toward Waite, then stops dead. Waite who is running watching the ball and not where he is going runs into a STATIONARY Rance, Waite should be charged with charging because this is basketball after all. Just like Jacko's suspension last year this is ctap and outright cheating. Worth copping the extra week to make a stand. I am SOOOO angry. grrrrrr....

He should be found not guilty on the basis that he has absolutely no awareness and the club could lodge copies of numerous post on here to substantiate the defence, cause some on here can't be wrong ;D

this is a typical richmond punishment if it was the richmond player knocked out it would have been no case to answer

spare me.

Seems a little excessive to me. It seems a little like double standards that you can kick a bloke in the nuts and get zilch yet simply standing your ground to an utter moron cops you four weeks. I hope the Tigers make a real contest of this.
My confusion over this tribunal system contines to grow.
I guess the only bright light is that at least Waite got what he deserved on the field.

I have to agree, Barnz. Rance does run off his opponent to block Waite (which I missed the first time I saw it). And if he's inadvertently clashed heads and concussed the guy then the tribunal's going to punish it. Typically unlucky for us rather than any vendetta by the AFL I would think.

More importantly with Rance now out does Kelvin Moore come back any time soon? Still our best big man down back.

Think it looks much worse because there are two RFC players close in. You could almost make a case that had Rance not raised his forearm to protect himself, they might have be a headclash between the two as Waite wasn't looking were he was going. The big problem is how far the incident is from the ball, so it can't be in the act of a contest or like a shepherd.

Agree with Patoohey - a contest could get it downgraded but won't avoid a suspension.

I reckon Thursty will get the nod this week. Has shown he can play ok on Nick and with Moore still injured and Rance out, leaves us bereft of options.

Thursty is a lightweight. Grimes weighs more than him. I don't think we should play him unless we can help it.

Did Gourdis get a go at Reiwoldt last year when we went close?

No way in the world does Grimes weigh more than Thursfield Barnzy.

Thursfield is listed at 86kg and Grimes 87kg.

Difference is one is entering his 2nd year in the system and the other 7th. For some reason the club must've intentionally slimmed down Thursty which I think is a mistake. He put on a bit of weight last year and was listed at 89 kg, he was starting to looked solid for the first time ever. I thought he was going put on a few more kgs this year ala McGuane/Astbury, etc which would've really helped him and was shocked when I saw he lost 3 kg. At that weight he should not be playing on talls.

Thursty has got a reasonable record on Riewoldt. McGuane to Kosi. Astbury to Gamble.

Easy change. But I reckon Rance is stiff to get three weeks. Sad too, would have liked to see him over the next three weeks.

Dont believe everything you read Barnzy. Especially those stats.

Do you think Goddard is 189 cms as well.
