Alex Rance

The photos of Rance in fine shape at Barwon Heads have certainly have caught plenty of folks attention but what can we reasonably expect from him leading into year two?

When's he going to debut?

How many games will he play?

Where is he going to play?

I noticed he recently won Coburg's best RFC listed player this season which is promising and he's sure an exciting prospect but how do folks think he'll go in '09 really?

I reckon he will get a game in the NAB cup (barring injury)

I guess he will play 6 games this year, mainly as a third tall

Wizard Cup he will get a chance and I will say stay in the squad for Round 1, maybe an emergency. Remarkable talent with a good head on his shoulders, is ready to go.

Barring injury most of them. I will say about 15.

Where is he going to play? Down in defense not in a key position. On the fourth best player in opposition forward lines. Will leave the better forwards for Thursfield, McGuane and Moore to help Rance's development. That is unless injuries occur, but still I would put Schulz into key position before Rance to protect him a tad.

I think he will be a regular, rt hbf or possibly rt wing. He is a goer and gives 110%. May finally embarass Mcmahon.

Would think our shining knight Sir Rancealot will play whizzfizz nab whatever and be right in the mix for game one.
Expect half a dozen to a dozen games from him mainly off the bench as a relieving defender.

How was Alex's disposal by foot for Coburg in '08?

Only just ILO ToO.

We've got a lot to work with, but he needs to greatly improve his composure & kicking to make his mark at AFL level.

8 games would be a good season from him.

I admit I laugh a little whenever I see predictions that 8-10 games will be a good result for a young player, ala Rance. Because this means that they would likely be promoted and dropped at least a few times during the season. And when that happens ... this joint usually goes into selection meltdown.

Thats half the fun of going on here. People chucking a full on hissy fit when young kids get tested and rested at senior level.

Ta Daisy, I seem to recall a few queries in the Coburg thread hence my question.
Will be interesting then to see if some here are as patient with Alex's stray disposals initially at senior level as they have been with Lace Out Luke's. ;)

I would say Rance is already a better user of the ball then Muscles McGuane. And Rance is 50 times more creative as a footballer, Rance will run and carry and get involved with link ups. McGuane doesn't.

Ae this stage I'll stick with McGuane as he has the runs on the board.Rance although promising still has...?

Very true TM. One does need to keep one's sense of humour about one's self!

I hope you are right Scooper and Alex's a raging success..
