AFL Betting Thread

I am kicking myself because I had both Melbourne and Essendon marked as good bets but got caught up in other things and didn't get on. That's the bet I'm looking for: vulnerable or over-valued favourite (Dangerfield, Selwood playing hurt, Adelaide off the boil) against an underrated opponent. Bugger. Keep your eyes peeled kids, in such a close comp there are plenty of so-called upsets staring us in the face this year.

GWS next week are a vulnerable and overvalued favourite. Beat by st kilda and a fall in your lap, comical, error riddled win at home against collingwood. Yet we are $5 to beat them.

Nonsensical odds. If we win today, get through without injury and dion comes in, we are half those odds to win IMO.

Taken the $4 on Cotchin to be the leading tackler, good value i reckon.

Cotch as an anytime goalkicker is good value at around $2.

When we win, he usually kicks a goal this year, given he rest at FF and kicks straight these days.

Chance that it might get to 30 today with humidity around 70%, Gold Coast at $3.75 is a reasonable bet, I'm on.

Agree! The 27 pt start is too much.

That game should cover the 201 pt total match points line as well.

The Dockers at $3 is magnetising, I'll do a second multi with the Mighty Tiges to win.

The Dockers was good result for me financially i got a very tidy multi, it helps to ease the pain.

that would represent an acute punting panic.

panic is the punters enemy.

Those that were right have mostly been wrong the first 5 round Capn, so go easy on yourself.

The other obvious fiscal and emotional kudos that is implied by your first statement, is that you didnt back us all 2016 :fing32

fortune will continue to favour the brave.

I never bet live for the reason outlined above.

This is now the time to get back in for the fearless

The Chimp topped the tackle count with Neale and Sutcliffe, payed $2 instead of $4.

Im far from fearless Jazzy. In fact, im fear riddled and brimming with self,andRFC-loathing.

Thats the second most painful loss ive endured in my memory I reckon (after the 2015 loss to north).

I watched it in a strange pub, full of strangers, all on my own.

when Bellis kicked that goal, I grabbed 5 strangers, 3 of whom where women in their late 60's enjoying mothers day sherries, and did a ring a rosy, upending chairs and tables.

As i was explaining to the jubilant strangers, who had zero context or understanding of AFL, that fairy tales dont happen to Richmond; we were still embracing and circling manically; Mundy took the mark and beat us.

I think we're *smile*ed.

Two single kick losses in 2 weeks can *smile* a resilient side. and we know the resilience aint richmonds strong suit.

my optimism is so drained, im thinking about The Epsom. and it happened in 20 seconds.

Im appealing to you blokes for counsel.

Do I lay off, which i dont think ive ever done, and back us to miss the 8? or do I hold?

I saw Browny on that promo. Should've listened to him with Freo at $3.00

Punting is all about winning easy, you know what you have to do, as much as it hurts.

Anyone catch this Sportsbet ad featuring sprinter Ben Johnson? Very cheeky ;D

im outraged by it. Filthy bookies waiving cheating and corruption in our faces?

*smile* me im outraged by it. what next? Essendon players smiling saying 'whatever it takes' for crown bet?

I reckon the bookies spivs are getting enboldened by their profits, and will shortly be kicked in the arse with anti-ad legislation.

I hate the *smile*s

The stage is set to empty the *smile* bags on saturday.

Im as sure we'll beat GWS as I was we'd lose to Freo

The outrage fraternity have come for it.

I must admit I laughed when I saw it. Thought it was great. But knew it was probably the last time I'd see it on TV.

I reckon theres once a season value on the tiges this week, subject to selection.

GWS are way more injury plagued than us. Their bottomless depth is be tested, and their form is sh!t.

Our form is patchy, but i sense we'll put it all together. Its what we do following heartbreaking, un-forseen losses, followed by a cant-win game against a serious contender

Sure, it'll take some big coconuts, by the club and us punters.

My selection caveats are Dion must be in, and Elton must be out. They are non-negotiables from my punting POV.

Very tempting easy.
I'm not sure the Giants injury troubles are as bad as made out.
Coniglio is a big out as is Hopper, Griffen and Delideo haven't played all year and the rest aren't really established.
Miles, lloyd, Prestia and Soldo would need to come in for us to be a chance.
