It will be an interesting watch Smoking because of course coaching and development is subject to the soft cap.

So far it is Newman in and McQualter out but I would expect that Yze is paid less than Dimma was. I wonder if we have any soft cap space left ? The other thing of course is that most of the assistant coaches are probably still contracted given Dimma was contracted to the end of 2024 so we may well be hamstrung by that
I can’t see how we do not have room in the soft cap. Dimma would have been on decent coin. Yze would no where be on that sort of money. You would think Newman and Mcqualter almost cancel each other out. Maybe Newman comes over on more money but nothing major. And I am not in the camp of getting rid of the current assistants. Both have proven to be valuable assistants over time. Don’t forget we also lose Clarke. I assume Lambert steps up.

But that still leaves us short on the development front. We need to invest in this area. No excuses here.

As each day passes it looks like Yze has a harder job. I don't envy him right now but all the same I am excited to see what he brings.
The signs were evident for all to see last season, its just some fans are almost out of the denial stage now.

I said if we get none there is a lot of pain ahead and if we get 7-8 we are a different proposition.

Out of that list I would be disappointed if we didn’t get 5
They will need to play regularly if they are to be regular players. That didn't happen last season (should have), and obviously must need to change this season.

Well it seems like either by design or circumstance or both, Yze will be working with the vast majority of the list as it stands today next season.

I reckon quite a few would have received the up or out speech. Yze gets a year to work out who he can mould and who needs to go.

I expect next year’s trade/draft period to be a very busy one for the RFC.
