Fly and Kingsley were not given the chance to show us match-day selections
That wasn’t the key point you and monsab were making. It was that Mini had been with us to long and were matey with the players. Same would have applied to Fly and Kingsley. Re hard decisions as interim coach you’re making assumptions. We got no idea what scope he was given as coach.

Dont know, just that the candidates we do have are not exactly inspiring a great deal of confidence.

Im not vibing them :))
Not sure any of us know when it comes to assistants.
We have a feeling about mcqualter and we have a feeling around Newman because he played with us but that’s it really

I have previously stated that i prefer a fresh voice, we don't know if kingsley or fly would have had an impact on the Richmond team as they have had on colonwood or gws

Whilst Kingsley and McRae are good coaches, they have taken on talented lists that are hungry for a premiership and they have provided a freshness / new voice to the playing list. Our challenge is different, our list is not as talented and our players have already experienced a ton of success so the hunger levels for another premiership aren't as great as say GWS or collingwood.

The thing, for me, about Mcqualters coaching audition is that I didn’t see any great changes to the game plan. It was haphazard, bomb it in forward with no connection to the forward line and was unskilled. Now whether Yze can address this who knows.

It was pretty clear from what he and Brendon both said when he took over that Mini wasn’t going to be allowed to change anything, and that’s what happened at least until rd 22, when a final 8 finish had become impossible.

That was a terribly difficult set of orders, given that Dimma had walked out because his game plan, (without Tom), just didn’t work. Little problem of literally having no forward line! Slow and no one left who could take a high mark or play with a bit of speed and hardness, to the extent that Balta finally had to be shipped in.

Anyway Dimma had had enough and by that point, ie the Essendon loss, the extent of Jack’s inability to contribute was clear. So Dimma fell ill and unable to continue, and I have to say that he did so with exquisite timing!

My point is that the stick to the game plan
instruction given to Mini just couldn’t work and that although winning more than he lost with that instruction hanging around his neck was a great effort, that the limits placed on him, didn’t give him a fair chance of proving his ability.

Don’t know about Adem or his abilities but suspect he has sold the club on a we can still win it with just a few adjustments plan. Hope I am wrong, because that is bull….!

Still think Mini deserves it.

Not that I disagree GTT, however great coaches can achieve the most out of their playing list …. Dimma in 2017 with Georgie is a great example .

I’m not fussed if Mini gets the job , however I think it’s best for freshness , this list at full strength should play finals imho , Minis loses against the Saints and Dees were a real concern for me .

Even with Lynchy back, we are no where near Mr Goodside.
Look at last weekends games. We don’t have the general speed or handling/delivery skills to match it with the top 4.

Pardon my ignorance for asking this: why was Mini Dimma instructed to stick with the same game plan/players throughout the year?

What can anyone tell me about Yze?
Know nothing about him and if he is to be our next coach would appreciate some accurate knowledge about him and his history.

I don't agree he had been given orders for everything. Team selection was a mess players not performing still getting games and we're talking senior players the kids took the rapt. What about those bad losses against dogs and saints we were spineless lack of effort at times who's responsibility for that not one senior player dropped.

I agree with this to many believe Lynch is the answer to all our problems lol he is a gun , but we lack speed and skills pressure etc.

Yeah I don't reckon he was asked to. More likely that he chose too.

There was an interview given by Brendon in which no changes in the game plan and no involvement in list management was mentioned.
Mini later said something along the same lines.
And there were none.
We played better early but our forward line just couldn’t cut it at all.
The only meaningful change that could have been made was Balta forward, but that didn’t occur until the season was effectively over.
