Adem Yze

Not a lot I agree but he did some things
He did push both Dusty and Bolton further up the field and played both of them on ball much more.
He moved Baker forward
He moved Vlastuin forward as a in game move a couple of times
Put Daniel forward and I'll give you the job.

Well, actually, I'd say quite the opposite. It gives us ability to check out other skills that coaches need. He might want to change our game plan for all we know, but needs an off season to do it.
That said, I prefer the refresh of an outside coach.
It "feels" better having an outsider come in with different ideas (you could argue our Assistants should have done that), than staying with someone inside the tent.
If the club think Mini is better than everyone else, so be it.
I’m torn. But for me it feels better to evolve the game plan that’s been successful for us. Is yze equipped to do that or does he bring the plan that he’s been hatching? Do we want to play like rfc 2.5 or dees?

That was McQualters decision though. Not a directive from Gale or anyone else. He made an occasional positional move but not much changed at all post Hardwick.
Didn’t Mini ask the players in his first week “is the game plan the problem or the execution by you lot?”
And the players took the execution to be the issue?

For me that was his first mistake own it take authority he was with Dimma from the start of year he could see the issues asking the players for me was naive.

Correct, it was reported the players wanted to stick with the game plan instead of implementing a new plan.

Not in 2023. The point was he did change a few things after Dimma left
But minor stuff. The forward line was lost after Lynch went down. Week after week it was left to Jack.
It badly needed an injection of speed and hardness and that didn’t occur until the 2nd last round.
The change should have occurred much earlier. I don’t believe it could have happened without Gale’s approval.

Clearly not on your radar!
Doesn’t matter what my radar says.

My feeling is that there is something unstable about Clarko and that’s not just related to his issues this year. He really hasn’t been a successful afl coach since about 2018 imo.

Time will tell I guess

Was attempting to not rock the boat.

Get players on side.

He was only in a ‘caretakers role” with the club , through the media, telling us all, what they were looking for.

What was the clubs end goal?

Mini didn’t really want the job then by the end , put his ‘hat in the ring’.

Players public backing him.

Now it’s down to two and he remains one of the candidates left.

We were talking about the limits placed on Mini.
The limits were significant, and they impacted his performance as coach.
We will never know how much, but we know now that we were gone as soon as Lynch went down.
IMO Mini did a grand job while catering to those limits. And doesn’t deserve to lose the job because he was limited in demonstrating what he could do.

Who's to say that he will, maybe Yze will have presented a better option for us.
Well probably never really know.

I would've been ok with Mini, but my preference was/is for a bit of a freshen up of the coaching department.

Anyway we should know shortly.

Considering every one dropped out the minute they announced they were searching for a coach. This has been drawn out to buggery.
2 of the most underwhelming coaches I've seen.
It's like the choice between Bolton or Neeld

I can't understand why so many dropped out puzzling that in its way. You even got the 2 outsiders on the coaching panel with no footy experience wouldn't you rather a Selwood or Hodge.
