2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

Anyone else worried about the camp seems to be the time we get all these feet problems, i can see the need for it this year with the new coachfor bonding but gee. Nearly lock it in 2 players will be in moon boots within 2 weeks!

Kosy recruited as a backup for Lynch. If Lynch proves his fitness and Naismith is chosen to be the relief ruckman, then Kosy is no certainty for round 1.
That would surprise me , I reckon kozi is seen as jack’s replacement, at his age tho , he ll be expected to perform

Not really. Best to find out now who is fit enough to perform all season. If you're no good then you're out. Injury or not.

As for Gibbo, Lynch and others, surely Ooze would've done due diligence with the strength and conditioning team.

Just stopped by this morning and spent some time looking at the defenders doing a drill where they, one on one, try to stop players leading and marking. Couple of observations:

- Lefau is one hell of a physical specimen and tall enough to go up against big players.
- Naismith looks in amazing condition and certainly not like a player who has come to play in the VFL. He was going full gas, cleaned up his opponent in one drill.
- Grimes had a heavily strapped left thigh and looked slow
Is Lefau another Ratonmygear?
Big & strong but not game smart.
I will never forget Ratonmygear touching a ball on the line but the only problem was Hawkins was kicking for goal.

To be fair Gawn also did the same to knock his own side out of the Finals.

Maybe like he said, he was just sick of playing small forward under the Hardwick reregime.
May have been effective during our premiership years but hardwick didnt adjust the small fwd role once the rule changes came in.

Interesting the player that lasted the longest as small fwd under hardwick was Castagna. It eventually broke him also.

Kosi not so much a replacement for either Lynch if his foot doesn’t stand up :) or Jack but a best available to be used in the case of emergency only.
Not to be compared with either of these two as he just isn’t that good.
Bauer also a better bet.

Kosi will play round 1 if fit.

Might be used as a hit up forward and do relief rucking to enable another running player to the side
To me this is the way Bauer plays forward. He isn’t big and strong enough to be a true key forward but he can play the role as a 3rd tall with lynch together Kosi or Ryan playing KPF and relief ruck. He may play a KPF role against a smaller backline

Bauer is 192 cm. I like him but he isn’t KPF size at AFL level.

Ben Lennon also had the Ability. But like Cumberland between the ears what failed him.
Lennon was slow and didn’t love the contest.
Not sure it was all mental. Went to the US and did ok as a punter. Not the sign of someone mentally weak.
