Got to admit,12 weeks without a signed on senior coach has me inpatient.
Newman has played under Wallace,6 years under dimma,coached under Clarkson,Mitchell, that's a all mighty brilliant apprenticeship, favourite for mine.

He played with us when we were ordinary and coached at Hawks when they were just as bad. Hasn't seen much success as player and coach.
Collingwood, less than two years ago when they appointed McRae.
He played also in 2013,2014, 2015,all finals teams,also coached a vfl premiership.
FWIW i have heard it is McQualter, Newman, Giansiracusa, Yze and Skipworth short listed.
The person who told me has some connections but I wouldn’t take it as gospel.
It’s hard to not get influenced by media but there is a lot of noise around Newy.
