2024 Richmond Coach

Newman is an interesting prospect seeing as he's got tiger blood, former captain and had a few years at the Hawks to see what processes they've put in place to improve their list and results. Good to have someone who is not as close to the current players so should be willing to make the hard calls on retention and week to week selection. We've been gifting games to some premiership players who perhaps haven't deserved them based on recent form. Mini is possibly too close to the current group of ageing or out-of -form former stars.
Especially now that the Hawks are rising. These kids who will be regular 1sts were and learnt under Newy.

I'd be very very concerned if Carr told the club we need to rebuild and Benny and the Jets don't want to go down that path as 100K members each years looks and sounds good. If Mini gets the gig you can almost guarantee that was the conversation as they could easily dictate to Mini how to approach his tenure. Reckon the Taranto and Hopper trades might have a big part to play in it all
Lol x 2

This coach we appoint will most likely just be there for the bottom out and rebuild, i hope whover they appoint needs to understand we need to take a hit down the bottom for 2 or 3 yeaes to find the next stars and not just linger in 9th to 12th

Richo has today said on radio that he would think Giansiricusa is also on the shortlist

The club is on the record that they want a coach by September. I reckon it will be announced in the week after our last game.

The word I have is that Carr didn't want the job while Chaplin and Graham didn't make the shortlist.

The shorlist appears to be:

Mini
Newy
Yze; and
Skipworth

Not a very impressive list to pick from.
I remember hawthorn supporters saying that about Clarkson

What’s the update on Bigfooty?
Who’s been guaranteed the job this week?

Can’t say I’m all that excited about the supposed shortlist.

Yze I heard 2 years ago is not that great a guy when it comes to morals. Dunno if that’s true or not, but it’s what I was told has held him back where previous senior coaching applications were concerned.

Newman I would find a really uninspiring choice. Standards weren’t great under him as captain (2009-2012) and I never thought he lead with much aggression and hardness in his play. To this day he’s as boring as all hell to listen to. Vanilla appointment ? Dunno.

McQualter. Well, we’re seeing his submission or application for the job playing itself out right now.

Skipworth might be the most interesting. Heard for 3-4 years he’s very footy astute but really, he’s so low key it’s hard to get a gauge.

Maybe somebody else will be asked to apply ? Happens a bit when clubs aren’t satisfied with what they’re looking at.

Gia's the other one you didn't mention but I'd say no to him. Seems soft.

Besides Mini, Newy's the only one I could trust as he knows the club, been away, learnt coaching, won a flag and we can see the Hawks kids blossom now.

I'll take Skipworth as an outsider especially as he's part of the Scumwood success we see now.

It's hard to judge by personality sometimes. Thinking back to when I joined here, I always thought Wallace was smarter than Clarko.

I hear Giansiracusa is a prick of a bloke. Source - father of very senior premiership player at the Dogs. (Very soft player too Giansiracusa).

Is there any chance we are cooking up a raid on someone else from another club like Hinckley or Chris scott

Wish Andy Collins had the desire. Alan Richardson's been tried out and failed. Just 2 of our previous VFL coaches.

Stephen King? I haven't seen the Huns last few games which were losses. Does he match with Mini's failures?
