Gale said it best. We need the next Hardwick. This is a long project.
Is it Mini? I doubt it because like Dimma they'll need a fresh slate.

He at least will be there watching every training session over the summer.Whoever is appointed is going to have to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in because the list isn't looking that flash. Might be some real pain to endure over the next two or three seasons.
Starting to hear some Newy whispers nowThere are 3 ex Richmond skippers out and about who can bring back IP - Knights, Newman and Wayne Campbell s sitting in the box at the Suns.
Campbell may well be a replacement for Benny at some stage though.
Throw in Grigga there are good Richmond men out there that can bring back IP.
Even throw in CONCA, currently running at Melbourne and spent time at Freo.
Has some very good coaching credentials, however I’m really against going back to a Tiger from a *smile* eraStarting to hear some Newy whispers now
Then they'll love him as much as an Assistant Coach as a head coach.Nothing new in this, but heard it from a player, the guys love Mini FWIW.
I get Mr B. But that's kinda like saying people can't learn anything new.Has some very good coaching credentials, however I’m really against going back to a Tiger from a *smile* era
The assumption seems to be that with Mini things will stay more or less the same. I think that would be underestimating him. If he got the job I’d expect fairly significant changes to the game style and coaching setup.Nothing new in this, but heard it from a player, the guys love Mini FWIW.
How many premierships did Mini or Josh Carr win again?Has some very good coaching credentials, however I’m really against going back to a Tiger from a *smile* era
It’s going back a long way, but Tommy Hafey was also an ex player from a pretty poor era for the club when he was appointed. The next coach probably won’t be the one to take us back to the top of the ladder, but he can put the blocks in place for whoever succeeds him.I get Mr B. But that's kinda like saying people can't learn anything new.
I'd be OK with people from a crap era who've left the club and been able to create something good at another club.
We can't tarnish everyone at the club with the same brush. There'd have to have been some good people with good ideas.
Just not enough of a critical mass to fix things.
Spot on.Then they'll love him as much as an Assistant Coach as a head coach.
Perhaps we're needing some discipline rather than love. Efforts (or lack of) like last night aren't going to get resolved with cuddles and good vibes.
Good point there at the end. Then they'll love him as much as an Assistant Coach as a head coach.

I know we’re all about a fun environment, staying relaxed etc and to be honest, I think it’s served us well given where we were pre 2017 and the mental demons etc we might have had. And we certainly seem to have created a great work place that everyone loves coming into. But have we maybe gone a bit too far with it ? Is it time to bring back a bit more ruthlessness and hard nosed spirit ? Maybe can some of the nicey nicey stuff I see going on at training a bit ? Dunno.
Right now we’ve got a number of guys who don’t apply anywhere near enough physical application in their games. Maybe it’s time to get a bit firmer with things at the club, apply a bit of a stronger lens. A lot of guys seem to be getting away with stuff on game day.
yeah nah. our list has some deficiencies but wouldn't be hard to fix over a couple of seasons. On the current performances by the Tigers l don't see many aspiring coaches being interested in the Tigers coaching gig
Remember where we were when Hardwick took over? And he left an assistant gig at Hawthorn who had won a flag in 2008. Coach’s want to coach, and they see a struggling club, especially a high profile one like ours, as a challenge.yeah nah. our list has some deficiencies but wouldn't be hard to fix over a couple of seasons.
And turn down coaching the tigers? Any aspiring coach would jump at it.
Absolutely, I’m just not keen on it, think we can find same credentials from a much better culture, which is a better place to start.I get Mr B. But that's kinda like saying people can't learn anything new.
