2024 Richmond Coach

If I’m not mistaken the blow outs this season we haven’t seen for awhile.
even when Danielle was coaching we were just falling short…
if the players do LOVE playing for Mini I’m not seeing it.

im thinking it’s a case of the dog wagging the tail at tigerland at present.
this attitude is not what got us our 3 flags.

Yes it did. Players and Dimma were in love.

Interesting Chris Newman isn’t talked up more as a potential candidate given previous captain and credited as starting the whole “Richmond man” way

Reckon Skipworth will be balls deep. Good resume and further education at Harvard would appeal greatly to Gale and Co. Doesn’t seem to have a super personality though, reminds me of Pyke. Whereas Mini seems intelligent and can have a laugh. And from his stance against Lovett Murray, has fiery streak as well

He does. Also told off some players when they met just after Dimma announced he was leaving.

Yep reckon Skipworth is the real smokey assuming he has applied?

Yep players have too much say and control under Mini

No, sorry but it’s dumb. There are only 18 jobs available and when a big club with massive supporter base and a healthy bank balance is looking for a coach there will be heaps of coaches tarting up their resumes. The enormity of the task is one thing, the opportunity to coach Richmond is another.
We will have the pick of available coaches.
This is what I like a debate! Sure we are a big club with a massive fan base so we are an attractive proposition. Any future head coach for 2024 onwards for RFC will need to be a willing to take the lumps for a while whilst he fixes up the holes in our list list plus replacing some of our aging stars and accepts we are not going to be contenders for a couple of years. It will be a special aspiring coach to get us back where we belong person and how many young coaches will be able to do that? Very few. I was hoping Mini would raise his game but the task based on yesterday is beyond him and he seems to be too nicer guy to use the rod so whoever is our next coach I just hope we get the right person in the mould of a Dimma type but with new ideas. You guys in Aus will have some ideas so will be an interesting few months but I will stand by my original comment

While we are at it can we get a proper ruck coach. I love big Ivan but what could he possibly teach our players about the art of ruckwork. Was a battler and that is what our ruckmen turn into.

I don't like the premiership clock metaphor but we aren't as far off being a finals side as we think.

The absolute panic that hits this site if we have a bad loss always amuses me, just like the posts calling for a complete rebuild that come out around Round 5 every season.
None of us likes to see us lose but wouldn't mind as much if we saw some real consistent effort by all the players not just the select few put into four quarters and this has been generally lacking for the last two seasons. The last two games are just examples where we didn't even compete for at least a quarter or two. The main positive I have taken from the post Dimma era is we have found a way to win close games team. It is obvious to all that we are going to lose around three or four of our stars over the next season or so and maybe others will not make the grade and right now we have no replacements coming through so yes we do have to rebuild both in personnel and coaching . This will take time

Interesting situation now that Port lost 4 in a row. Even when they were flying with 13 wins in a row, their fans want Hinkley sacked and prefer Carr, so now it's really getting worse. Imagine if Carr knows he's close to getting the job there, but Hinkley wants to stay especially now that Dimma will be offered the Huns position. Port fans will riot if Hinkley is extended. There's more pressure on Port than us in coaching issues. Could be a lot of stalemates in these scenarios.

You wanna read Ports Big Footy, they hate Hinkley. Lot gonna drop off if extended. Apparently was having laugh and joke after match with Cats players

As long as we don’t fall for the trap in going for Hinkley.
he might be out of a job.
