2024 Richmond Coach

Regardless of who we appoint if we don’t beef up the football department with assistant and development coaches we won’t succeed.

Our soft cap will have space to accommodate these additions. The new senior coach won’t be on anywhere near the money Hardwick was on. That alone would get us another assistant.

Think back to 2017. We had Caracella, Leppitsch, Macrae, Rutten, Mini etc. Make sure you surround your coach with the best. The rest will take care of itself.

Nothing new in this, but heard it from a player, the guys love Mini FWIW.
There's nothing wrong with loving the coach, that's fine. But, the question must always be "why? Is it because he makes you feel more comfortable and secure or is it that he brings out the best in you and pushes you to the nth degree. Hopefully both.
But, last night was evidence that some bad habits are still rife.

I'm not sure how this would sit with the club, but I am a massive fan of Chocco as a development coach. I'm told his energy and enthusiasm are infectious.

Everyone wants him. We had him, but I heard somewhere he doesn't want to leave the Dees.

panel will be looking for lots of things but if a candidate just came out and said 'the list needs quality youth' and 'your disposal is shizen' and 'tactics need a complete overhaul'

then I would mark them highly
Correct.

Remember this is what Dimma said in his interview with the Bombers. He told them a few uncomfortable truths, whereas Matthew Knights told them what they wanted to hear and that the list was ready to go.

I still can’t see us not going with Mcqualter.
Same here. At least these losses are a learning curve for him and surely he's not stupid enough to think that all this buddy love most are seeing is the only way to go. I've heard he is a mongrel behind the scenes.

Mini is a clone of Dimma to close to the players , doesn't drop senior blokes not performing , he knows nothing but Richmond for his coaching career.

my 2 cents I know it’s not good to be too comfortable and that it’s good to be uncomfortable for learning and growth and thats exactly what a new face outside the club will provide

Applications for the coaching position was closed to early. If they left it till after the doggies game it would have shown Mini would be no certain to get the gig,

Thats exactly what we as supporters don't want to hear
Players are to bloody comfortable with this bloke .
Needs to go , been there for 10 years .Carr will straighten them up and lm hoping that the spiel from him IS we need to strip it back & go again 3 years ....
Trade where we can & might lose a couple but that's footy .

If we have people who aren't prepared to back themselves against tough competition, they shouldn't be or had coach.

We need a little arrogance. Some mongrel. Someone with the self belief to command attention of the list. They have a very tough legacy to follow. Almost like someone following Sheedy.

First thing our next coach needs to is address our skills there pathetic aswell as hitting targets over the last couple years big drop off one of the worse in the competition.

Get a new fitness and conditioning staff we need new blood and new assistants alot with the coach.

As for recruitment be brave put a few big names on the table get a few good picks in the top 30 not impossible if Blair and the club a brave.

I'm liking Yze be there done that hawks flag years and at dees to.

Adem Yze (Melbourne)

Could already be a senior coach if Greater Western Sydney had opted for the highly rated Melbourne assistant, with the Giants' decision last year said to be a toss of the coin between Yze and Adam Kingsley. The former Melbourne forward held assistant roles with Hawthorn before joining the Demons for their 2021 premiership season, with the 45-year-old in charge of the midfield. Yze is also the head of strategy on game day and the voice to coach Simon Goodwin from the coaches' box. Valued by the Demons for his ability to pick up game trends quickly as well as his calming influence and strong relationships.
