2024 Richmond Coach

Yeah interesting who gets ( or even goes for ) the job . Its not going to be easy . Rumours of 3 or more players leveing at the end of season ( Graham , Soldo , Hugo and there are always the Dusty leaving rumours ) . Player retirements .. And the recruiting teams obsession for getting half back flankers .. instead of Midfielders and and Tall Forwards has not helped us at all .. They have recurited like Jack , Cotch , Meatball , Lynch and Dusty etc will play forever in 2019 form :( . Big important. off seson for us in so many areas not just the coaching position .

Isn‘t that just a function of a well run and tight club - we are doing this professionally and not via the media - applications are treated with respect.

I would expect nothing less.

Bah… we are kidding ourselves if we think that loss was on mini. That sublime first half was on mini. How did he get them to play at that level after months of second rate ‘almost’ performances. That loss was a reality check. Look at the cattle out there. 5 or so players who were not up to it for 4 quarters. Cotch, grimes, reiwold = too old too slow. Miller Pickett mansel = money ball spare parts. And then, inexplicable shockers from balta, young. Yes we lost but for most of us it was a big red x before the bounce. The strong reaction on here probably has more to do with the hope generated in the first half by a blistering performance and then the second half nosedive that crushed our collective spirit.

He says he hasn't received a call. Doesn't mean his manager hadn't fielded a call on his behalf, nor does it mean he hasn't applied. Applications closed last Friday, interview was on Monday, realistic to say the coaching panel hadn't reached out to candidates over the weekend straight after applications closed.

Its clear he is very keen to become a senior coach.

For those who recruit staff you don’t call candidates 5 minutes after the application date closes. You first need to canvass those who have applied and then sort out the ones who are legit and the ones who are a *smile* take. It takes time.

Yep makes sense. I’ve misunderstood the interview I thought they were asking him if Richmond called to apply. But I guess they wouldn’t have to. Agree that shortlisting of candidates wouldn’t take place yet.

It will take till season has been completed you would think.

There are candidates that are in contention for finals so the wait is on till then to know more.

Could be till weeks after the GF.
 
The club has said that they want to appoint someone by the end of September, so it won't be a long drawn-out process.

We should expect the media speculation to start in a week or so.
 
Interviews at Punt Rd starting soon?

If so you would expect Camera snipers everywhere.
Behind trees, up trees, adjoining roof tops and balconies trying to get the money shot.
Was that Carr? Newy? Grigga? Hinkley? Yze?
Mini prob the only guy who can go for the interview without anyone batting an eyelid.

Nikon, Pentax fully charged.
Snapperazzi at the ready.

That's not how interviews are done these days apparently.

First you get the candidate to head overseas to a remote an luxurious location. Then you send the chairperson of the club to that location interview them. (y)
