2024 Richmond Coach

A 60point thrashing could see Mini aspirations to coach us crumble
Need to be ultra competitive and not fail like we did against Brisvegas

Are we likely to know who has and hasn’t applied before the new coach is announced in September?

For the record I was really hoping for Dimma last time we went through this process, my gut feel was he was the right coach for us at the time and very happy when he was announced, in all honesty like many was seriously questioning the selection in 2016 but all’s well that ends well!

For what it’s worth feels like Carr is the right man this time, happy with Mini so far but almost feels like it’s a half coaching change hes has been around for so long and think new ideas and philosophies from outside the club is what we need (much like Dimma brought when he arrived).

Regardless happy to put my faith in the club and the selection committee to make the best decision on the applicants they have to consider
The new ideas and philosophies that Dimma brought? They got us 3 finishes in the first week of finals?
The gameplan based on the hawks that was eventually rejected end of 2016?

No doubt Dimma brought ideas that helped turn the club around.
But the successful gameplan and player management he and the coaching staff developed in house.
Snapshot is we can have change and improvement without bringing in an outside top coach

Depends really.
Melbourne forward line is a shambles. They have a 2 year developing forward and backup backman as their 2 talls. Broad Grimes Young will shut them down and Balta will have a field day.
So a 60 point thrashing is on the cards and cement Mini as the front runner!

Carr’s record at North Adelaide
4 wins
4 wins
11 wins (won flag from 5th)
4 wins.

- I’m warming more to Mini. Like the cut of his jib
Pretty disturbing tbh puts him in pretty poor company of asst that made an absolute clutz of coaching , notable that the year after he left the team came second too , whats that say , MASSIVE alarm bells for mine

Not sure he has enough mongrel in him to challenge a group when needed. Almost more like a good mate than coach.. that’s just the feeling I get.

Me too. It's a shame the overt endorsement from the playing group may have deterred potential top echelon coaching applications (they can praise Mini without alienating the process).

Getting the recruiting right is as important as the new coach. We desperately need to get some quality youth coming through and to start nailing our picks.

Will have no affect on potential coaches.

Lost the game at the selection table
Not convinced Mini is the answer

I had the contract printed out and sprayed a little bit of old spice on it at half time.
Ripped it up after Melbourne kicked 5 straight in the 3rdQ

Who else would you have had mark petty van Roy and Melk with their 14g between them , we kicked what should be a winning score 15g8. Wasnt lost at selection table at all was lost by a leaky defence

If you ignore a 6 goal outstanding performance by Cumbo
Keep playing Mansell Pickett who are either not upto it or out of form A slow forward line of Cotch Jack Graham Dusty Prestia Miller you end up getting smashed by top 8 sides
We couldn’t hold the ball in our forward line or get a centre clearance That’s where we lost the game at the selection table

Might be time to move away from the Hardwick game plan and ideas.

New ideas new eyes new Voice might be the shot in the arm the club needs as opposed to a dead cat bounce which Mini could well be.

Maybe a new Cockroach might sharpen the focus up of a few.

We kicked 15G 8 that would beat most sides , scoring wasn’t the problem today matey it was saving them , how does cumbo help saving any of the 14g I spoke of

If you reckon a bloke that coached at sanfl for 4y with a 25% win/loss could do better , think again
