2024 Richmond Coach

Read that the club will allow 8 and 9 to decide their own future.
Where does that leave prospective coaches going through the interviews?
What if one says this:
I want the job but I will only accept it if I can finish these 2 off.
Does he get it?
Or do we revert to Mini who will tow the party line and let them play?
Are the players having too much say, tail wagging the dog?

No easy answer.
And I love them both.

We saw with Clarko and Hawks how NOT to finish your Champs off.
Traded out, Delisted.
Are we doing the reverse?
And possibly losing good candidates for the main job?
Not to mention the lack of developing our juniors.
It is a difficult situation.

If Carr doesn't want the job that's ok, We want someone who's desperate to succeed & would climb over broken glass to coach the best run club in the country.
Not some bloke who doesn't want to leave his home state because his mrs wears the pants.

8 is trying to hold down a forward 50 on his own and would be doing much better in tandem with 19. If 8 plays on it's because no 1 else is coming to take 3 shots a week in 24.

And 9 is still best 22 because the likes of 40 haven't come on. 9 may decide his 2 legs have held up enough to play the 14 games in 24 that he was supposed to play in 23.

Funny , but so true.

CARR might be off the table after tonight. Reckon showdown loss will kill Kenny future contract

Even the Cows are gonna win. Surely this is a sign for us tomorrow!

Ken's team might be dropping form to get him sacked, Carr in........conspiracies!!

Am I the only one that thinks Port have told Carr to tank leaving it back up to Ken. They shank and Ken gets the arse, appoint Carr?

Carr’s record at North Adelaide

11 wins (won flag from 5th)
4 wins.

And let Collingwobbles win the premiership?
Port deserves to be kicked out of the league

What’s a jib?
It's a particular sail used on yachts etc. When the jib is filled well with air, salties will express it something like "the jib is well cut" or "I like the cut of the jib".
An expression that is also sometimes used to describe someone's character or demeanour

His performance has been so impressive that two industry sources with knowledge of the coaching landscape, who wanted to remain anonymous so they could speak freely, said some potential candidates may not apply because they think it’s McQualter’s job to lose.

That’s not great for the club. We could potentially miss out on the best candidate because they think the process is a boat race.

Some players aren’t helping by publicly endorsing Mini. Let’s be honest, the players would have no idea what the other candidates bring to the table; values, people management, game plan etc and so should be told to shut up. It’s not the players job to appoint the coach, that’s not their preview.

A little discipline is required from everyone at the club. Everybody should know their lane and operate within it.

Can’t really blame the players giving mini the thumbs ups.
After every win the media ask the players what they think of the new coach. Can’t exactly say his fine or okay. Mini been at the club longer then most of the players and is well liked.

I’m far from sold on McQualter, but if the players are asked about him what do you expect them to say? If it’s anything other than positive, including a no comment or a brush off like it’s not my decision, then that will be interpreted as they don’t like him or want him as coach. Carr aside, and it looks like he’s got his heart set on Port, the candidates have not been overwhelmingly good. I’m not seeing anyone with a McCrae style CV in there.

Mini got a decent pump up in the Hun today. Plenty of people around the comp seem to think fairly highly of him.
