2024 Richmond Coach

Heard today that Carr might not be interested.
Hinkley must be about to join the sacked coaches club if true.

You’re not going to turn down coaching Richmond to be an assistant coach at Port for another 2 or 3 years

Personally, I hope it's not Mini. That's not to say he's done anything wrong.

I just think the Club needs a 'new' leader; someone from outside the club who the players will see as an authoritative figure. Mini started as a player, then held various assistant positions. I'm not convinced the players will see him as someone they have to follow. Too easy to question his directives.

Maybe too much of a 'mate'. That can come down the track, but initially there needs to be separation where boundaries are established.

I don’t think I’ve ever cared so little about such an important decision in our clubs future .

We will not know for sometime if whoever we appoint is the right person for the job , then there’s the factors of Lynch’s foot, Cubs improvement, Benny etc .

Losing Peggy and possibly Benny I actually see as more important then Dimmas replacement , will get a good coach no doubt, will it be the right match , only time will tell.

Personally would have rather Dimma quit last year and Kingsley got the job .

Assitants are an interesting question, if it stays the same we will have 3 ex senior coaches next season.

I think Fly has proven what a difference a good coach can make. This is a huge decision for the club and one we must get right.

Yes the loss of Peggy and most likely Benny are huge but I refuse to believe that Benny wouldn't have had a succession plan in place for his departure. I don't think he'd up and leave without knowing the club is in good hands.

Don’t disagree , my point is just personally I’m not fussed with the appointment at first as proven many times , it didn’t matter the new coaches credentials and history it’s all about the results they achieve at their new club . My angst will come later :))

Hardwick said in his farewell presser that this was always going to be his last year. I suspect the club would have know that. Why didn’t we transition someone like Kingsley into the top job?

I’d quess the club didn’t know , in fact I’m not convinced Dimma actually thought that jan 1 2023

If that’s the case then he either knows the jobs already Mini’s or he has done a deal with Kockie to replace Hinkley already.

No one knocks back a senior gig these days.

who would knock back a chance to coach the tigers?
Best people in the league running it and you know they’ll back you

Alot of noise about Carr , but who knows someone could come out of nowhere and present well that wouldn't suprise me. If Carr has that deal at Port those things don’t end well ask the pies.
