Scott was a defender, he and his clone…I mean twin, were back pockets for Brisbane. The Kray brothers.

Collingwobbles 4th or 3rd oldest list in the league.
So in their prime now to make run for a premiership

2nd oldest behind the cat's, its now and next year to try and snag a flag or it'll be over before they know it.

I seem to recall Brad being a run with player in the midfield. He used to take Buckley in those GFs the Lions beat the flogpies in. Chris was more of a defender though

not sure Strachan at full back and Mount at CHB would be considered elite
Mount may have played at CHB in some of the 9 games he played in 1980, but I don’t recall seeing him there, admittedly I was only a kid. I do remember Jess playing there, Strachan was actually runner up in our B&F in ‘81, so he must have gone through a patch of form. Bourke and Dunne played a lot at full back. Dunne was named there in the GF side. The line from FF to centre that I remember was Roach, Cloke, Raines. Lee dominated the ruck and Flea roved it. Wood was on the wing. Bartlett feasted on the crumbs from the big guys. Roach kicked over 100, Bartlett was in the ‘70’s. We don’t have anything approaching that level of talent now. We did a few years ago and made the most of it.

The 1980 team was fantastic with the possible exception of the key defensive posts - Jess was great at CHB (but had to go forward whenever Cloke got injured) while we also had an ageing but still reliable Francis Bourke and more dour defenders in Strachan and Dunne.

Mount was a very talented player who never went on with it for some reason (he came as a star Tassie footballer who I saw while growing up in Hobart). Should have been a ten year centre half back. We ended up recruiting an aged Alan Martello instead for the 1982 tilt.

A lot is made of coaches who are subsequently overlooked after failed bids for senior coaching roles.

Yze lost to Brad Scott - no shame, as Essendon wanted a proven coach and Scott was respected in the industry.

Yze lost to Kingsley - no shame, except it was a shame for us as things have transpired.

And he's not a serial loser: both of those bids were a year ago.

I'm not writing this to advocate for Yze. Next year I hope to be cheering on our next premiership coach, whoever it may be.

Mount played CHB in the grand final and was great. Jess played CHF and was one of the best on the ground, allowing Cloke to park in the goal square and kick 6.

2012 Sydney - Longmire - full forward
Also a premiership full-back.

I'm currently unemployed and applied for 35 jobs before getting one
had several interviews , all have said rated suitable just one person better
one agent even said "how many times are you going to run second"

luckily the jobs im going for they don't know how many I've applied for and missed unlike AFL head coach positions

I think it is fair to assume if Yze is making it to the last 2 or 3 in a process , he is AFL head coach material

just will his approach and personality be right for our club and list now

I was in a competition for the most sensitive lover, and came second.

I recall our most recent primership coach missed out on one or two senior coaching jobs...
