2024 Richmond Coach

I actually think we are scraping the barrel and will end up with the scraps. Reality is the 2 coaches we should of had are now at the Pies and GWS. The one we really wanted knocked us back because his wife didnt want to leave Adelaide. That leaves us with Mini and Yze. Mini means the players will have the run of the club and Yze doesn't fill me with any confidence at all. Think we are in for long term pain with either of them tbh.

Id be keeping Grigg on speed dial as he may be needed in a year or 2
Agree, we have been left with 2 ordinary options to choose from.
It could be back to the 80's for us.
5 coaches in 10 yrs coming up.
You can't give the job to McQualter seriously my 10 yr old son wouldve got the same results and who Yze, a half back flanker that won nothing. That fills me with excitement.
It's probably the worse year to replace a coach.
The options are very uninspiring

Let’s give the successful candidate a go first before writing them off. Dimma couldnt use a computer & took us from being the worst side since Fitzroy to winning 3 flags.
Only time will tell our fortunes.

whoever it is, i hope its announced soon. we're in the middle of September.

Unless its Newman. I will need to allow time to receive my membership before it goes into the microwave
That's an expensive pursuit in this day of Digital Memberships!

And Dimma had trouble cooking the sausages after those assistants were gone.........it's not just the coach.......it's the whole club!

Dimma can stick his sausages.
I want a nice porterhouse steak. (Eye Phillet are for snotty nosed tiffs..overpriced and under taste imo)

Whoever gets the job, I only hope they’re up to the task of rebuilding and instilling the hunger and desire into our players. Some decent skills..I’ve had enough of the George’s and Moju’s amongst others, shitkicking, handballing to the feet of teammates and forward bombing of the ball to outnumbered forwards.

The candidates are uninspiring because they’ve been working in the background and we really won’t know them until they’ve had at least 2 years to turn our big ship around.

And lets see which assistant coaches they will be surrounded by. For me this is just as important as who we appoint.

I am not fazed if its Mini or Yze but I will be very disappointed if there isnt a shake up with the assistants. We cant use soft cap space as an excuse.

The longer this is taking I'm guessing its going to be YZE.

They could easily name Mini or Newy now with no finals going on for them...Hmmm.

I dont know why everyone is so down in the dumps about it all? No-one ever really knows how a candidate will transition from assistant to head coach. Its not an exact science so lets just trust the process and see how we go. It wasnt that long ago that everyone used to complain about Kingsley bc he was our midfield coach and we'd often get smacked in midfield.

Trust the club, trust the process. Differently run Richmond these days.

Bloody snotty nose toff Timmy. Closet Melbourne supporter :giggle:
This is true. I do take my eye fillets with roasted aubergine and grilled asparagus served on my charcuterie board to all games.

Underrated post that deserves to be quoted Willos.

Though Scotch Fillet is clearly superior again.

Sometimes you get the feel that Yze is finally going to get the job he's been after for years.

Yeah, he has been close quite a few times which shows he must be a good coach at this level and interview well.

Previously clubs have been reluctant to pull the trigger on the new boys, but McCrae and Kingsley may have changed that perception a bit.
