2024 - List Management

Might up his trade value lol. Cause Dimma wouldn't know what he's getting.
I'm personally hoping Vlaustin gets it. Been under rewarded for too long. Not that I've got anything against Rioli, he'd be worthy too. Just got a soft spot for Nick (which is odd because he's anything but soft!)
Such a soft spot that after 12 years you still can't spell his name.

We do still have Oliver Hayes-Brown and Mate Colina (if he ever gets on the park)
Anyone notice Ooze mention these two not shown on those 2 boards of young players playing under 50 games, but both boards not showing Cumbo and Coulthard.....who I think will be the first delisted.

What is interesting is that we never announce our delistings early.
All the other clubs make the announcements very early.
Some even by Tuesday after Rd24.
For some reason we never do this.
We wait like someone will make a play for one of our lesser lights and offer us the world.
Never happens.

Yeah I posted this in the other thread (albeit mistyped Mansell instead of Coulthard initially which got a poster fired up!). Seems like those other two will be gone for sure based on that.

Are we bringing in any experience to plug the gaps that Bakes, Rioli and Bolton leave?
Don't worry about older players yet. Just replace Rioli with Tobie Travaglia Bolton with Taj Hotton, Martin with Sam Lalor and Cotchin finally with Sid Draper.
Draft Armstrong to replace Riewoldt and we need to draft another highly touted kpf next year to replace Lynch.
Just Draft one of the better mids after all that to replace Baker.

We have sometimes in the past, but I genuinely think this year it all comes down to so much going on over the trade / draft period that we don't know how many picks we will have or list spots, so keeping those options open.

My nightmares about this all-in draft have actors named Pattison, Meyer, Lennon, C Ellis, Tambling, Vickery, Polo, Banik, Lounder, Conca, Sonsie

I think we do it to help them get to other clubs.

With Naismith leaving we are left with Nank and Samson. Probably 1 ruck short so I’d imagine we’ll bring in another mature ruck for back up. Anyone have any ideas on who might be available either from another club or the VFL?
Normally I agree with you TDog.
But we arent tilting for finals anyway. If or when Nank goes down we have Ryan and Kosi as backup.
Kosi? Yeah to stand there and make a contest.

Keep the list spot for a kid.
When Lynch retires we can get a ruck backup

Stack the midfield and wings with kids who are competitive with size and can run.

I'll see you and raise you Cotchin, Martin, Rance, Riewoldt, Edwards, Vlustuin, Balta, Bolton etc

Times have changed mate, more intel on players. Talent spotters watching games around Australia. U18 championships. This draft is deep full of talent, predominately mids. It's a number game, the more first-rounders we have most likely we will have more hits than misses.

You just get that vibe from Travaglia that he is going to be a quality 250 game player

Cats & Pies looking to regenerate on the fly with seasoned players over draft picks..
Meanwhile we're losing our best 25-27 year olds years olds & hoarding a treasure trove of speculation.
Not saying either is the correct play but will be interesting to see which strategy is most effective over the next 5 years.

Will be. Our's wasn't a strategy by choice though. Our first choice was going down the path Collingwood and Geelong are now but then for various reasons blew up in our face.

Our current path was handed to us and we've now gotta make the most of it.

Hopefully we pull the right reigns and turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
